Federal workers given until Nov. 9 to get COVID vaccines or face consequences
Employees who refuse to be vaccinated or provide proof of vaccination can be fired, OPM says.
The Office of Personnel Management is giving federal workers until Nov. 9 to comply with President Biden’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate or face consequences that could include firing.
“Employees who refuse to be vaccinated or provide proof of vaccination are subject to disciplinary measures, up to and including removal or termination from federal service," OPM Director Kiran Ahuja wrote in a memo Friday. "The only exception is for individuals who receive a legally required exception pursuant to established agency processes."
Enforcement proceedings can begin the day of the deadline, and OPM urged workers not to wait until the last minute to get inoculations.
Biden issued an executive order last month requiring all federal workers to get vaccinations.

Nobody else in the USA outside FedZilla gets that kid glove “disciplinary measure” treatment. Everywhere else it is “You’re FIRED!” no ifs, ands, or buts.
It’s the federal government , just lie and say you got it. They won’t bother to check it.
Is being fired the worst that can happen. Unless they have other plans?

And what about exemptions? If I were a government worker I'd claim medical and religious, I'd also want to be tested for anti-bodies. Plus, I am O+, so less at risk anyway.
If I were a government employee and then terminated, might I have grounds to sue for wrongful termination--asked to take something that is impossible, not given civil rights or accomodation, and if I were qualified under one or more medical reasons--a medical condition that creates risk (I have an enlarged heart), I may have already had it (immunity), or I am at low risk (blood type), wouldn't this also come under HIPPA or ADA or other protections.

Sounds to me like they’re want people to be compliant on all things this administration wants to do....Federal employees oversee much of what happens. Therefore they want employees who will be obedient......this covid thing can certainly weed out those they don’t want in the Federal Government.
Any decision will be based, at least in part, on the
percentage of the various POC types among those affected.

Maybe in and around DC but
I was in the federal workforce for 31 years and that was definitely not the case at my activity.
Our immune systems are not so discriminating. Someone who contracted the original Wuhan strain will have "natural immunity" to Delta.
On the other hand, antibodies induced by an mRNA vaccine that causes one's body to replicate the spike protein from the original Wuhan strain will provide little, if any, effective immunity to Delta. That's what we're witnessing in Israel and the U.K.
Whatever you do DO NOT quit. Not even if they say you cannot collect unemployment.
No telling what’s gonna happen between now and then.
Last thing you want is a voluntary break in service.
