“That day I handed over my baby to a total stranger,” he told the outlet. “The only thing I trusted is that he was a Marine, and that my daughter would be safe.”
Marines were filmed plucking the baby from her dad’s arms and lifting her over the barbed wire to safety, in a heartbreaking moment that grabbed the world’s attention amid the US evacuations from the Taliban-controlled country.
He watched the Taliban beat people in the crowd as people came through the gates with broken limbs and other severe injuries.
“I knew she’d never make it through. She’d be crushed to death, God forbid, or severely injured,” Hameed said.
Desperate, Hameed pointed out his baby to a nearby marine and asked if he could help her get over.
“He told me the only thing he could do was lift her over the barbed wire, but he said she’d be hurt,” the dad recalled. “I told him I’ll take the chance. I’d rather her get hurt than die.”

I was switching channels last night and watched Inside Edition for a few minutes..of course they were attacking this marine, claiming he was NOT the one that helped the baby over the wall. Gee I remember when the left praised the military that went after Trump..remember the Khan family, how the commie media said how dare Trump go after the Khan family they are a gold star family..now its totally fine to go after a marine, fine and dandy as long as he’s a Trump supporter..I saw the rally, this marine never said ONE thing political, just mentioned he was at the Afghan airport and was the one that brought the baby over the wall thats it

His mother says he was one of the Marines. Hope he didn’t get caught up in the moment and misspeak onstage. We thank him for his service, no matter what.

Just sharing information. I don’t know what the truth is, either. For now, I’ll give the Marine the benefit of the doubt, though, that he was one of the Marines on that wall.
