@RepMattGaetz
Today I voted YES on the Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment and Expungement Act to remove marijuana from the list of Schedule 1 drugs, decriminalizing the substance at the federal level and enabling states to set their own policy. (1/2)
Though not perfect (bad tax and spending provisions) the MORE Act is a step in the right direction as science has already proven the substance has healing properties in many chronic ailments. (2/2)

“Prohibition all over again.”
Just as they have done with liquor.
It’s illegal to make it without a very expensive license/tax and it’s taxed at wholesale and retail at about a combined 1,000% rate. Maybe 2,000%.
At scale you can make it for about $1 a quart. Storage/aging costs vary by quality. Oak barrels aren’t cheap.
Ditto! Government's only legitimate authority over substances is those whose use is intrinsically a clear and present danger to people other than the user - which I think does apply to antibiotics, but nothing else I'm aware of.
“There goes a huge GOP issue. 1934 and 1968 firearms laws erased, constitutional carry the law of the land, major hit to what is probably a significant percentage of Republican voters’ most animating issue.”
That one won’t happen.
But pot will be legal for any state that codifies it as so.
Grandma grows it now, and slow cures the buds for optimum bouquet.
For a while I brewed my own beer just as several of my friends had been doing, but my goal was to develop “beer syrup” like the “Coca Cola syrup” they deliver to restaurants. Just run your CO2 water and instant beer.
It worked... sorta. I had gallons of beer syrup but there was a problem — all of the alcohol evaporates during the process.
So, being stuck with a bunch of beer flavored syrup and lotsa powdered syrup, I started buying the cheapest, crappiest beer you can get at the Big Lots store. That syrup turned the worst-tasting beer into good beer, it turned pretty-good beer into excellent beer.
It foamed up like Guiness, and I would tell my friends “that’s the brewing process taking place”. You can drink the foam, like they do with Guiness in Europe calling it ‘sipping air’. Overall, a fun experience and a great gift to give out during Christmas.

I remember when that stuff was strictly forbidden anywhere in any amount.
The sad part is many Americans live in serious pain that only morphine, oxycodone or hydrocodone can help them live close to normal. Every year some bureaucrat cuts the the total doseage per day down. I know men who were shot up much worse then I was who cannot leave home to go to our reunion now.
Gaetz has a great future ahead of him as a marijuana lobbyist.
I said that an argument could be made...I didn’t say that I agreed with it.
But, again, no such argument could be made WRT cannabis.
“Do the same thing for hydrocodone...”
Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease do it for hydrocodone.
I see nothing in the the Constitution that gives the feral government any authority over what a person puts in their body. We have complete and absolute responsibility for what we *do* regardless of what we’ve consumed, but beyond that I can’t really see what business it is of some damned bureaucrat what you or I ingest.
Not that I care for druggies, or any of that crap, but I’d rather suffer from useless eaters kicking off from abusing fentanyl than have some tinhorn dictator telling me I can’t have a beer, a bowl load, or a bacon blue cheese burger and it’s all of a piece to me.
Every political movement in history has been, at least to some degree, sabotaged by the ‘True Believer’ crazies within it. Politics is the art of the possible. It’s in a way good that the dims aren’t smart enough to see this, or to keep their crazies subjugated- although most of the ones I know like and have guns!
Hydrocodone is a Scheduled 2 Narcotic still hard to get but it is very good for knee pain and arthritis but a pain in the butt to get anymore.
Too much of of that and you’ll be hanging out with George Floyd.
Why didn’t you just add the alcohol back in?
Why not try it if it’s legal in your state and there are regulated stores.
What about edibles (candy)? I’ve never tried it but could be more pleasant (and healthier) than smoking it
