Duane "Dog the Bounty Hunter" Chapman on Wednesday contracted a private search and rescue K-9 team to search an island called Egmont Key off the coast of St. Petersburg, Florida, in his search for Brian Laundrie.
A crew of four people carrying backpacks and other supplies left on boats with three K-9s. Chapman confirmed to Fox News that he hired the team.

"We're out here at the island," Chapman said in a video posted to Twitter on Wednesday. "This would be and could be a perfect spot for him to hide, not too many people out here."
Egmont has a pilot house, a ranger station and a lighthouse that was built in 1858 but is primarily a wildlife refuge.
[snip]
He later added: "Allegedly, what we’re hearing, is two people left on the 8th. Three people came in on the 6th, and two people left on the 8th. I think he’s been here for sure."
[snip]
The FBI and local law enforcement have been on the hunt for Laundrie since he returned home. Laundrie's parents told officials on Sept. 17 that they hadn't seen their son since Sept. 14. A federal court in Wyoming issued a federal arrest warrant against Laundrie last week.

Make he’ll make a series out it like “Oak Island”?

“That fool is gonna get himself shot one of these days.”
I doubt they would write that into the script, which is 100% what that show is.

For me it is where a team you think is ridiculous is playing your arch enemies. Hope Dog gets him and rubs the FBI’s nose in it.

“The police cannot bring his parents “downtown” to question them about his whereabouts?”
They lawyered up immediately.

Whatever you think of Dog, he cut short his Florida honeymoon and jumped into the Laundrie manhunt with both feet. He’s not bound by the bureaucracy and overhead of government law enforcement and is being nimble and fast-acting in his investigation.

Egmont Key? You can’t hike to get there.A few days ago, a 3 second video appeared on BL's Instagram page showing water lapping against what looked like an old skiff.

Isn't it legally suspicious that they have knowledge of criminal activity and apparently aren't sharing it?

For some time many of us have wondered just who is Jack Schitt? We find ourselves at a loss when someone says, "You don't know Jack Schitt!" Well, thanks to my genealogy efforts, you can now respond in an intellectual way.
Jack Schitt is the only son of Awe Schitt. Awe Schitt, the fertilizer magnate, married O. Schitt, the owner of Needeep N. Schitt, Inc. They had one son, Jack.
In turn, Jack Schitt married Noe Schitt. The deeply religious couple produced six children: Holie Schitt, Giva Schitt, Fulla Schitt, Bull Schitt, and the twins Deap Schitt and Dip Schitt. Against her parents' objections, Deap Schitt married Dumb Schitt, a high school dropout.
After being married 15 years, Jack and Noe Schitt divorced. Noe Schitt later married Ted Sherlock, and, because her kids were living with them, she wanted to keep her previous name. She was then known as Noe Schitt Sherlock.
Meanwhile, Dip Schitt married Loda Schitt, and they produced a son with a rather nervous disposition named Chicken Schitt. Two of the other six children, Fulla Schitt and Giva Schitt, were inseparable throughout childhood and subsequently married the Happens brothers in a dual ceremony. The wedding announcement in the newspaper announced the Schitt-Happens nuptials.
The Schitt-Happens children were Dawg, Byrd, and Hoarse. Bull Schitt, the prodigal son, left home to tour the world. He recently returned from Italy with his new Italian bride, Pisa Schitt.
Now when someone says, "You don't know Jack Schitt, " you can correct them.
Sincerely,
Crock O. Schitt

The son brings her van home, she’s dead, and the parents aren’t allowed to be questioned? They got a lawyer and told the police they’re not talking to them?

I was looking at Egmont Key on Google Earth, and judging by the number of buildings, it doesn’t really seem deserted. I could be wrong (probably am), but I don’t think he’s there- too much of a chance of being spotted. If he was there, he isn’t now.

You're right, but, there are many places to camp around the Ft DeSoto park. Ft DeSoto is my favorite beach in the Tampa Bay area, and I've been there plenty of times.
But, like I said, he might've been taken there to throw off the law enforcement agencies, and then taken elsewhere, and likely very far from Florida, in some other vehicle by some other family or acquaintances of the family.

I am sure that the lawyer told them not to answer any questions which the police may have.
There is that First Amendment thing which gives anyone or group the opportunity to say, “I choose to remain silent. I want a lawyer.”
That immediately ends any possible questioning.

My guess is he’ll go where he’s comfortable - someplace he’s been before. Authorities are probably checking out old old friends who live in the Fort DeSoto area...

That was almost 20 years ago.
I’d have no problem with him offering what ‘expertise’ he may have to LE in this case; but hammering on the door of the Laundrie house, with cameraman in tow, appeared to be nothing but an attempt to make the story a dramatic spectacle about Chapman.

I’m in N. Illinois. I’ve only been to Florida once, around 1974, at Key West.
My brother-in-law is working somewhere in your area with his buddy buying houses, fixing them up and re-selling them for a profit. I thought it was Ft. Myers, but I don’t remember. Thanks for educating me, I hope they find that creep soon, if he didn’t get eaten. What you say makes perfect sense.

So they’re likely scumbags that are protecting him?
You’d think average people would be telling the police everything they know.
