(The above is not a statement of fact. It is either opinion, or satire. Or both.)

Video looks like the scene from the 1950s War of the Worlds when the Martians first arrive.

Why are weathermen called meteorologists? I never hear them give meteor predictions.

It sure does. It’s a spitting image of that scene. Great catch!

Fireball Meteor.
It sounds like a mixed drink.
Something with Barcardi Rum with both cherries and Jalapeno Peppers.
To: Larry Lucido
Lol..... you’re right. Maybe once a year they’ll let you know about the Leonid Meteor shower.

I’ve seen a few of them over the years here out west. I saw one over the Superstition Mountains in Mesa, AZ, a few months ago about 11:00 pm. Large and bright green, it streaked vertically across the sky for less than 3 seconds. Real purty.

Back in the Sixties, my two brothers saw the huge fireball that traveled down the eastern seaboard. They said it was huge, black smoke with orange flames going from horizon to horizon...I don't remember anything other than them coming inside yelling about it. I seem to remember it was daylight, but not sure. I don't remember a boom but I suppose there should have been.
Funny, my whole life the concept of us being hit by an asteroid was completely possible to me, but as I got older, it seemed more and more remote to everyone else.
As a kid, you look at the moon, and you think "Well. Something certainly has run into it. Why not us?" and when you get older, you hear people say things like "You're more likely to be killed by a falling piano" and you kind of accept that too.
I think I am one of those people when it comes to being wiped out by an asteroid, think that even though the odds are ten gazillion gazillion to one, all it takes is one!
LOL, more likely, I just never grew out of looking at the moon and seeing those impact craters...:)
