A British outdoorsman paddling through Scotland’s Loch Ness for a long-distance charity canoe trip may have inadvertently captured drone footage of the fabled Loch Ness Monster.
“The last thing I want to do is make a Nessie claim,” Richard Mavor told The Post. “I’m the most skeptical of people. But watching this I think yeah, there’s something a bit strange here.”
The video image taken last month of a long, thin form just beneath the water’s surface was so fleeting that Mavor, 54, didn’t notice it when he posted it Sept. 1.

Dont be ridiculous.
Theres no such thing as elephants.
Its a giraffe.
A friend and I went 2 years ago. Had a boat booked for the loch tour for a day. It was so darn windy we didn’t go…whether or not they cancelled the tour. They even shut that huge new bridge down that crosses from Inverness to somewhere….after we almost got blown off it in our clown car. Lol. I did like Inverness though.
It isn’t Nessie, it is Champ (The Lake Champlain monster), vacationing in Scotland. Nessie is vacationing in Vermont... 🤓
No Nessie is better looking and smarter... 🤓
Must a whole herd of them or just waves of water breaking.
There’s 39 seconds of my life I’ll never get back...
It looked like, the depth dropped off rapidly not far from shore (it gets dark really fast). I don’t know why an animal would go towards the shore like that except, maybe thinking that the boats might be animals to munch on? Or just curious about what the boats might be?
I wish there was more to,the video because we coild, could, seen if it turned and swam away, or just floated away or whatever, but they cut it off at an odd point I thought. Question is why? Did it surface and reveal that it was just a large tarp underwater that had blown off a camper or something? Or,large canvas? Or some other easily identifiable object?
Did you watch the video of it? If does look strange. The still photos didn’t look like much to me, but the video, definitely showed something weird moving under the surface, either on its own power, or from water lcurrents it seemed
They al. Would have had to clean their britches in the lake had she done so. Maybe that was her intent? Cryptids have quite a sense of humor
I did, but it was on a mobile device. Thanks for reminding me; I wanted to go back and watch it on my monitor.
If I read the article correctly, the videographer didn’t realize what the video showed until it was uploaded and other people pointed it out. He’s a good videographer, I’ll give him that.
Ok, after making full screen on my monitor and watching it over and over, there’s definitely something there that’s not a wave nor a rock. It’s not viewable at 3:52 but you can see it start to emerge at 3:55.
It looks like by the time the video cuts away at 4:03, it’s only a canoe-length from the shore. I don’t know how they missed seeing it! But I’ve seen videos where a shark was very close to people in the ocean and they never knew.
Just what ‘it’ is, I’m not sure. They seem to be the kind of folks that if it had been a tarp or something like that and they had seen it, they would have tried to retrieve the trash and haul it out.
Enlarge the video full screen, then rewind znd pause when it gets near shore. It does seem to be moving against the current, and does ‘appear to move its head some, but hard to tell really, appearances can and often are deceiving. Especially from so far above
“yup- it’s right in line with all the other waves- moving same direction”
Baby plesiosaurs are easily moved by wave action.
Yeah it’s weird for sure, but they didn’t see it till someone pointed it out later, so maybe they could t get back there if it was trash. But at a y rate, yeah, it’s hard to see things in the water when near eye level. And some folks like myself aren’t too observant sometimes. Especially when not looking for something.
They were probably busy getting set up for the night, and cooking supper. I know I would be!
Very True, they just don’t have the ‘flipper/eye’ control the adults do lol
# Indeed, Proof once again of AIBT (Alien Image Blurring Technology).
LOL. Excellent!
Just like Aliens and Bigfoot there is never a good photo of these nonsensical creatures.
Do either hillary or stacy vacation in Scotland?
