Kroger changes gun policy, asks shoppers not to openly carry firearms

So, it appears you can still choose to conceal carry if you are permitted to do so.

He was using some type of semi-auto rifle, the witness said it was a military-style rifle (in other words not a mini-14 but an AR or an AK).

@Jeanine Actually, we don’t promote their legalization. The Constitution has already done that for Americans.

The question was, if Kroger allowed concealed carry, so I examined the open carry laws. Then I looked for Kroger position on open carry, and found that they requested shoppers not open carry, but leaving open the possibility of conceal carry. Both of these posts were responses to her post: From what I hear Kroger does NOT allow concealed carry in stores

It was more about why other shoppers didn't respond, with concealed firearms, than about the shooter himself.

I spent 3 days driving around West Palm Bch, going into every dive, standing everyone against the bar/wall at gunpoint, looking for him. WPBPD stopped me on 4th day, and asked me to leave, and they’d “take care of it”, and they found him, as few days later, based upon artist’s sketch I did that night, with fresh bullet in my side, before going to trauma Ctr at S. Miami Hospital.

I’m fully recovered, and have the xrays framed as reminders to always CCW.

There was a man walking into the store who fired on him because he figured the shooter had nothing to lose by shooting one more person.

People carry in Kroger, they just don’t know it’s not allowed in the store.

Kroger usually has armed security, wonder if he was the first shot. At the movie theaters guards have bulletproof vests on, it might be time to start issuing armor as standard.

Did you even bother to read the article I posted?

Kroger only asked people not to open carry. They were mum on concealed carry because they do not frown on concealed carry.

“It was more about why other shoppers didn’t respond, with concealed firearms, than about the shooter himself.”

Not your job as a CCW. In most states that’s a great way to get shot by responding cops, arrested if you manage to shoot the bad guy, and bankrupted in civil cases even if it was a good shoot.

Your CCW is to cover the escape of you and your loved ones.

This man was in a Walmart. A woman working in the Deli area was being stabbed by her ex-husband. The customer at the deli counter shot and killed the bad guy with his 45.
No charges, but had years of litigation. He was sued by the woman he saved!

Seems she lost child support when the ex-husband got dead.

Sorry I was looking at your post 31 and saw in bold letters “From what I hear Kroger does NOT allow concealed carry in stores”. My bad. Did not know Kroger allowed carry in their store. Now that you mention it I never saw any notices on their door saying not to.

That explains why a man opened fire on the shooter outside the store. He was not shot but the gunman mowed down some other people in the parking lot. It’s probably a tough job to be in a gun fight holding a pistol and the other guy has a rifle.

However Kroger ALWAYS has an armed security guard or two. Wonder if he was the first person shot.
