Yes, the Hong Kong Flu (a covid) of 1968.
Which also derived from China.
“Another benefit of hunters hunting. They find people and things. I found a man’s wallet.”
Walking through the large wooded state park near my house while walking my dog I tripped over a ancient 1920-30’s’s farm plow that was 3/4 buried. Old growth forest, closest farm a few miles away.
How did it get there?
my wife makes me wear a dog gps tracking collar ( tie it to one of my bibs straps ) we bought an extra hand held unit. She does it to get every last dollar out of me. Either out of my pockets or bank she doesnt care. OR is she making sure me and the dogs are hunting and NOT at girlfriends house....hummmm
Some great Americans had Hong Kong Flu ...
I was one of them ...
The arm didn’t appreciate it. Never go hiking unarmed.
My brother fell out his tree during hunting season. Luckily it wasn’t from his seat but as he was climbing down. Less than 6 months after a liver transplant. I had to swear not to tell his wife. She would have killed him.
I often wonder why some of those guys don’t simply start fires. Like the guy written about in “Into the Wild”.

Why WASN'T he (?) found 50 some years ago
Was NO family member curious and looked for him ?
No description of the location where he was found. Why did he go undiscovered for so long until now? Obviously there are details about the location that explain that.
Good idea. 🤠
The article kinda explains the search for him...but you have to read it.
No, CLIMATE CHANGE
“I wonder if they will be able to figure out what might have killed him?”
39 years old in 1968 equals.,..today likely old age./sarc
California was in one of its periodic droughts when I arrived in 1973. The next January, I climbed to the top of Yosemite Falls. Being the middle of winter, I set out long before sunrise and brought survival gear and appropriate clothing layers with me. After spending some time at the top, I headed down and saw people coming up in shorts, t-shirts, and flip flops. I went down just shaking my head.
I'm surprised the parks aren't littered with a lot more bodies.
Trees DO grow...
Don’t forget the guy that cut his arm off to get out from under a boulder.
Maybe it was too late. Fine motor skills are the first thing to go with hypothermia, and the shivering can be so bad, there’s nothing you can do. f you don’t have things ready to go, you’re in big trouble Also, panic can set in. I know the guy that cut the trail of that SF tech dude that got lost in Oregon, years ago. He found tracks across the road, then a shoe, and an article of clothing. Weather was moving in, so they called him off, knowing he was probably close, but dead. Shedding clothing is one of the last things a hypothermia victim might do. They feel like they’re burning up.
I believe it. Culling of the herd.
