The latest season of American Crime Story is shining a spotlight on the legendary online journalist Matt Drudge, revealing the internet news pioneer's role in Bill Clinton's impeachment to a new generation.

According to the biographer Lysiak, Drudge quit the radio show one day after New York magazine published a lengthy feature about him, which delved into rumors that Drudge is a closeted homosexual.

He reportedly still maintains the Drudge Report personally, running a bank of computer screens and watching multiple cable channels simultaneously throughout the day to keep up with the latest developments.

I believe the first season of American Crime Story was the only one that was worth watching. I have not seen the last couple of years. But the ones I saw after the first season were pure garbage. Just like Matt Drudge became.

It might have been “Whitewater Pages,” but regardless it brought me to FreeRepublic after a family member mentioned it. I also remember Drudge, Coulter and Lucianne Goldberg (“Trixie”) being at the March for Justice in Washington, D.C. not long after. What went wrong with these people? And Drudge is no journalist. He broke one story, albeit a big one, but he did not do the leg work on it. But for many years the Drudge siren was part of our lives.

The only part that I hated was after years of researching the death of Vince Foster, which is now impossible because everything’s been scrubbed, they actually show Vince pulling up in Ft Marcy Park, stepping out of his car, and blowing his brains out in the parking lot.
