Several federal agencies under the Biden Administration have been purchasing surveillance drone technology from Chinese companies, even though the technology had previously been labeled a national security threat by the Department of Defense, according to Fox News.
Purchases have been made by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the U.S. Secret Service, with the drones being provided by the company DJI, which is based in Shenzhen. The purchase of eight drones by the Secret Service was made on July 26th; just three days earlier, Biden’s own Defense Department had labeled DJI a national security threat. The FBI bought 19 drones around the same time.

Chinese companies have moved from cheap flying toys up to highly sophisticated drones in the space of 15 years.
Even IF Fed.gov wanted to buy them in the USA, they’d probably have to give Raytheon or Lockheed Martin a contract for $10 billion
top American students nearly all go to work on Wall Street or for consumer tech and social-media apps, so what’s the chance of new businesses springing up to build them here?
Xi Jinping has called similar businesses in China “useless capital,” and in the eyes of national security and development, he’s not wrong.

Wait...what? We not only invented “drones” but also the technology, then Clinton, Bush and Obama allow them to steal the technology and now Biden is buying it from them.

The military did this when Trump was president too. Back then they explained that they were just testing them to see what was available in China. I don’t have a problem with that but if we’re buying them to use them then we should patronize American manufacturers.

Doubt it. Might get lucky and find a few made in Taiawan or S Korea
I don't know but look up DJI drones and you will find that they are a huge manufacturer of drones for the lowly hobbyists and on up.........The DJI Mavik is very popular
that was my thinking.. either Chinese or nothing.
