"This is dangerous work for the search crews as they are wading through gator and snake-infested swamps and flooded hiking and biking trails," police said.\

SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. — The search for Gabby Petito's fiancé, Brian Laundrie, resumed Tuesday in the area he reportedly had last been, North Port police said.

He's a person of interest in Petito's disappearance amid what the department calls an FBI-led criminal investigation.

A police spokesperson says authorities will be searching for Laundrie in the Carlton Reserve where it was believed he went hiking about a week ago.

"This time, moving in from the Venice side of the area, along with adjoining lands. A weekend ground search and aerial search Monday of the 25-thousand-acre preserve has yet to yield any answers, but we must press on," spokesperson Josh Taylor said.

"Please be aware, the Carlton Reserve is a vast and unforgiving location at times. It is currently waste deep in water in many areas.

— North Port Police (@NorthPortPolice) September 21, 2021 Authorities have been searching the Carlton Reserve on and off since Saturday. Laundrie's family told police they believed he entered the area earlier that week. This area covers more than 80 miles of hiking trails.

My son made a video about paddling Turkey Creek on Eglin AFB. It's an incredibly gorgeous area.

The moment he arrived home minus her and the fact he wasn’t talking to police, that should have been immediate alarm bells and 24 hr surveillance.

Just poor police work...or lack thereof.

Yep.

I mean how many look alike’s of Brian Laundrie out there in the wildness of a swampland can there be?

Guy even wears his shirt like him, long, loose.

The moment he arrived home minus her and the fact he wasn’t talking to police

There was a 10 day delay between his arrival in FL 9/1 without Gabby, and when her mother in NY reported her missing 9/11. The van was towed from the Laundrie residence on or about 9/11. After 9/11, there was no LEO surveillance, while media cameras and reporters were stopping by multiple times per day.

He’s looking a little rough on the deer cam. But that’s what happens when you kill your GF, ruin your life and your parent’s lives. He’s probably aged a few years in the past month.
I think it’s him.

I saw his photo, he would make it back there very long other than a day trip.

Since you live there you would know so I'll take your word on that. From your other post, 48, it sounds beautiful....when it isn't rainy and flooded.

4 hrs by car 3 days on foot(by paved road).
Plus if N Port resumed a search in Carlton because of a cam shot from Baker Fl,they are dumber than presumed
Me thinks you may be wrong

Gators like to take their prey to underwater middens where they leave their prey to ripen 'em up and to tenderize the meat. It gives the corpses that flavor of rotted flesh which gators really enjoy. Yum!

You might be right. I forget how fast young hair grows.

If the picture were more detailed, I suppose we could compare his hairline in this picture and the mostly shaved look he sported in previous pictures, including the Utah police interview.

Come winter the birders and wildlife photogs are everywhere along with a few homeless that set up camp and I feel they would survive in there better than him. He drove a stock production mustang. Not your outdoors man type mode of transportation in these here parts
