A woman marries a man when she trusts him and expects to have a lifelong relationship with him (and vice versa). If a woman has not reached a level of trust and commitment with a man to make him her husband, she should also not roam around the country with him. When a young woman is murdered, it is often because she is leaving a boyfriend. She is especially at risk if she is far away from family and friends.
What I have written would have been considered common sense 60 years ago but is now attached as judgmental or victim-blaming. Well, I will give my daughter the same advice, to which she can listen or not, as an adult.
RIP, Gabby.
Husbands have murdered many wives.
Most here will just miss your point.
Marriage usually includes an unspoken agreement not to murder the one you marry.
Shackin up is just a little less of a commitment to not murder the one you shack up with.
Itty bitty little so...not much of a point really because, you’re not suppose to murder anyway.
I’ll stop rambling now.
And if you are going to roam around, at least take the precaution of being thin and pretty so the nation might actually pay attention if it ends badly.
I still up hitch hikers when it’s not a hassle.
Freegards
I aadmit to having picked up a hitchhikker not too long ago. I was alone and passed a broken down vehicle, where there was no cell service and it was 120+%- degrees. I came upon him about a mile or two past his disabled vehicle. I gave him water and a ride. I felt he was, physically in danger, and though I was conscious of the potential danger, I felt the risk was worth taking, as I felt his life was in danger.
Uh....pretty sure that husband murder their wives too. Even in their own home.
I’ve picked up one hitchhiker in the past 5 years and have not stopped for probably 100 more.
Well, it seems that there are quite a few that have been married but murdered by their husbands. They may have not been roaming around the country but they were murdered never-the-less.
These days there are no clear cut rites of passage to adulthood for millennials.
There is usually not even a community to which one can demonstrate a mutual commitment to another.
Millennials need to be aware that these considerations put them at higher risk than previous generations. Absent being taught life skills in school, they learn morals and character building from comic book heroes as portrayed in contemporary movies.
This is probably part of a longer trend that started in the late 1960s with hippies.
The internet gives millenials a sense of community but it is only a virtual sense and with it a false sense of security.
Divorced parents often produced children who are emotionally damaged goods. When they grow up their only role models were parents who spend much of their time trying to hurt each other.
“Because a husband has never ever murdered his wife...
This is just dumb “logic” here..
Just go along with it. Karpov is on a roll like Bluto in Animal House, Did we give up when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?” 😱
I offered a ride to a a young man and his aged mother dragging an open suitcase full of groceries during a winter storm. Lived about 8 blocks from the store so it was no big deal... Was glad I offered it was brutal cold too. They were plenty grateful.
Another time offered a ride to a fellow carrying and struggling with a 50 lb bag of dog food.....lived about 6 or 7 blocks from the store. He too was grateful. Freezing temps his car wouldn’t start and the dogs needed food.
Because a husband has never ever murdered his wife...
This is just dumb “logic” here
Yep, just an opportunity to be sanctimonious.
In my culture, we call that “formication”.
I would say that’s good advice for both men and women to take.
Yes. Marriage is a protection for women and children. Not perfect protection. Nothing is. But it is a genuine protection. Moral. Legal. Relational. Civil.
Thus the libs weaken it to the best they can. Even on FR. Saying a husband is just as bad or it’s ok if you marry eventually or the two lesbians were married too. All lies.
Cody Johnson was married for 8 days before his wife shoved him off a large cliff to his death.
Marriage isn’t for the feint or heart.

Exactly. It’s just an opportunity to be judgmental and holier than thou.
“In my culture, we call that “formication”.”
Was almost caught in Californication once but I cancelled the trip.
Just because something is good advice and an expression of practical wisdom does not make it suitable as a basis for criticism of a murder victim. People — our worthy selves included — are innately flawed and constantly make mistakes. Rarely if ever should mistakes be thought of as fairly answerable with a murder.
Just watch one day of Investigation Discovery. Husbands kill their wives all the time.
