Then shouldn’t we stop vaccinating? If the virus just mutates to get around the vaccine this will never end, and each booster will be to variants that have come and gone.

Natural immunity has a wider array of weapons than spike protein antibodies. But guess how the vaccines were designed. They were specifically designed to target the spike proteins of the Wuhan variant. That’s it. That’s the vaccine. And that is why natural immunity is proving to be more effective against newer variants. The body’s immune system is better than a laser focused vaccine.
