Boars must be so confused. Some of us ride around in pickup trucks shooting them and field dressing them while others effect rescues and give them belly rubs.

Wild hogs are a highly destructive invasive species.
They don’t even make good BBQ.

Why, they are filthy and cause all kind of crop damage among other things.

Absolutely loved it. That was a good woman who spent the week comforting an injured animal. Good for her and the vet who came and the sanctuary that took Paxton in. Good for you, too, for caring about him. Definitely want to be on your list.

Who can tell me what the difference between a wild boar and a feral hog is? Asking for a friend…
To: fieldmarshaldj
Very sweet. Wild boar who are healthy can be rather a menace.

Just think of how yummy he tasted after eating all those apples!
Joking aside, people learn kindness one small step at a time. Sometimes it’s by helping a critter because liking humans is very difficult. Always remember: In China, they eat cats. And worse things. In hog farming, you speak to and interact with the piglets so that they don’t get upset when you’re loading them onto the truck to take them to market. I don’t see much of a dichotomy here, really. Taking care of a hurt animal made those people feel good and it likely made them feel better about other people, too. (And that hog probably was really tasty after all that down time and eating apples.)

I am glad she saved it. Hope to see him soon on one of those videos where hunters shoot large numbers of hogs.
