The fiancé of missing 'van-life' woman Gabby Petito presents himself as a sweet and caring guy, but is actually jealous and controlling, her friend has claimed in an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com.
Rose Davis said Brian Laundrie, 23, allegedly went so far as to hide Gabby's ID once so that she couldn't meet up with her at a bar, triggering a violent episode similar to the one police investigated weeks before her disappearance.
'Brian took her ID just so she wouldn't be able to come out with me,' she told DailyMail.com on Friday.
'He's got these jealousy issues and he struggles from what Gabby called these "episodes," where he would hear things and hear voices and wouldn't sleep.

I would agree totally with that.
Yes. His demeanor with the police was odd, at best, and he definitely appeared capable of gaslighting and manipulation.
The cops probably within five minutes knew they were dealing with psychologically disturbed lowlife and got a pretty good idea about the troubled relationship between the pretty girl with insecurities and demons and the bad boy lowlife. But they are not therapists and without a formal complaint or evidence , they cannot make an arrest, howver in retrospect they and the parents of those two wish they had. BTW without a body, there will be no conviction or justice. Wasn’t long ago in America that the male relatives of this girl would meet with her boyfriend and in twenty minutes get the detailed story. Sorry but very much doubt this girl has any truly masculine relatives these days.
Finally someone discribef what I haven’t been able to put my finger on. Today people accept Mental health issues as “ okee- dokie” instead of fearing them . Which WE SHOULD ! I am sick and tired of having to be nice to people who obviously have little to no concept of reality and little to no self awareness.
“...What’s so special about her..?”
Blame the media. First of all, the media has ALWAYS pushed stories about Missing White Girls and/or Tragically Dead Little White Girls. JonBenét Ramsay for the most florid example in recent history. Compare the way that the Mainstream Media covers stories about missing and murdered little girls of any other race than white. I like to think I’m a fairly conservative person in most of my viewpoints, but that doesn’t mean that I think the left are always WRONG. Sometimes they’re right, even if for the wrong reasons, such as all the papers that have been written about the whole missing white girl bias, and the systemic racism in western media. Yes, they are 100% correct about that, and I don’t dispute it. And its that far more vulgar variety of racism that exists on the political left. That rotten-fish-stinking variety that they seem to think enough virtue signalling will cover up like expensive cologne.
The second (and lesser) reason is because Laundrie and Petito were minor online celebrities, and this whole thing became an online meme that the MSM, always late to the online party as they are, knew they had to find a way to scoop as much story out of this as they could, before the bean-feast had ended, so... “Hey! She’s a Missing White Girl!” (reporters’ eyes go wide as saucers): Oooooh! If it bleeds, it leads. NOTHING bleeds better than a missing white girl!

/at least SOME of my bitterness.
These are the ones controlling the dialogue.
You're describing most of the Democrats voting block.
The hearing voices thing is schizophrenia. Not a good sign. I was hoping maybe he just took off and left her in the woods somewhere.
From what FReepers have said about bears, coyotes and bobcats in the area, outright murder might have been kinder.
If we are holding a wacky contest, the murderer is always the wacky winner.
Exactly. Same reasons some of us are following the Alex Murdaugh story.
Cops in that area probably deal with every granola-head with the means to get there. Utah is big with the ultra-lib hike, bike, and dyke snowflakes and hippie hold-outs.
Yeh, she does not appear to be the outdoor type or very self sufficient. So she’s out in the middle of nowhere with a likely schizophrenic which is psychosis, incurable, super hard to treat and comes with breaks from reality and if I remember correctly from psych 205 often presents in the twenties.
So she says something and one of the five voices in his head tells him to Do this or that. Although if he gets an official diagnosis of schizophrenia he might get off with just going to the cookie farm.
Unfortunately, I have three kids in that age range of today’s “acceptance” and have had the discussions. I personally think this all started with ADD/HD. Twenty years ago, there were articles on just how many kids (usually boys) on Concerta/Ritalin. It was rampant. Big Pharm made a lot of money. Then came the entire cutting disorder... I can’t tell you how many times I heard about some girl cutting herself (usually middle school). Hollywood and the music business completed the “it’s cool to be mentally ill” climate. It seemed like every week that a new celebrity posted his or her “diagnosis” with the well wishes of fans including the “You are so brave” rhetoric. I just finished an article from a magazine YESTERDAY on Selena Gomez... just diagnosed with Bipolar and how her life NOW makes sense.
One discussion I’ve had was concerning a friend of my daughter diagnosed with anxiety. I said living life is full of anxiety. Going to school, starting a new job, meeting new people, moving away from home, marrying, having a child, growing older... all of this can cause some “anxiety”. THAT is normal. Now.. being 18 and STORMING THE BEACHES OF NORMANDY... that is REAL ANXIETY. I asked, “See the difference?”
Unfortunately, as you point out, he may get the chance to excel at basket weaving.
Yep,just glad some of them signal their intentions with biden and blm bumper stickers t-shirts hats and web pages.
That saga is bizarro3.
Very astute observation. The area is also a haven for the drugged drop-outs.
Excellent analysis, momtothree.
