NORTH PORT, Fla. — Police on Friday visited the home of Brian Laundrie, boyfriend of missing woman Gabby Petito, who has been deemed a person of interest in the case and who has up to now refused to speak with authorities about her disappearance.
Witness Jonathan Riches 42, told The Post he saw police officers arrive in an unmarked black van around 6:20 p.m.
One officer in full uniform walked in and didn’t have to knock and Laundrie’s parents there waiting and let him in, according to Riches. A few other officers followed.
A uniformed officer at one point exited the house and went to his vehicle, returning with what appeared to be a paper evidence bag.

The North Port Police department later put out a tweet saying there were not there to talk to Brian.
“North Port Police are currently speaking with the Laundrie Family at their request. At this time, we are not speaking with Brian. More details when available,” they wrote.

“ Sounds like Brian’s parents had enough.
Smart for the girl’s parents to put pressure on them the last couple of days.”

The irate and loud crowd gathering outside the parents’ house might have been a bit influential also.
This is getting more bizarre every day.

I even know a few cops that refuse to speak to other cops because of trust issues and a lack of confidence and competency. They won’t even hang out with them after work or for departmental events.
Why do cases like this make the news ? Why not others ? Just askin
I assume you’ve watched the Don’t Talk to the Police university lecture?
Yeh, the kid took off and now the parents are playing CYA.
