Brian Laundrie, through his lawyer, has still refused to speak with police about the possible whereabouts of his missing fiancé Gabby Petito, whose van he drove home to Florida from out West 10 days before she was reported missing.
Laundrie’s attorney has only released a pair of statements that do not address the missing 22-year-old’s possible whereabouts or last known location.
"I can see why criminal defense lawyer would say, you know what, you can't. You got to stay in the background: Don't talk," said Lara Yeretsia, a leading West Coast-based defense attorney. "but I can also see why it's so difficult in this situation, how horrific it is and what the impact is, because he's the last person who saw her."

Apparently we are going to be regaled daily with wild conjecture based on few facts.
Let the police do their job.
I don't know whether he was on the title. Even if she was solely on the title, in her absence the cops have no way of proving that she did not give him permission to use the van. They were clearly in a relationship and there was ample evidence that he was driving the van while they were together.
The van was not reported stolen, so no crime committed.
Same area had a couple of freakazoids murdered last month too.
They are trying to link them together.
Cher.
That is a key assumption (stated as fact) in the article. Makes the rest of it fairly worthless.
The guy needs a good ass kicking too.
It was her van. Probably not unless she reported it stolen
There would be flight records.
Gone are they days of getting on a plane with out providing ID
I realize “innocent until proven guilty”, but when time is of the essence, WHY couldn’t he be compelled to at least say where he last saw her? I know. I know. But this is just so wrong. They say that the more time that elapses, the less chance of a living recovery. It all just SCREAMS W.R.O.N.G.
Perhaps if when someone is convicted they add a decade onto their term for every day lost? Just a thought.
It was her van and its being reported on the news that he did fly back to FL for a few days and Gabby stayed the hotel where she was last seen.
“I assume you’re just making up the flights to Florida and Utah?”
You are wrong. If so, you should make that clear. Folks post so much untruths here and then others pick it up and run with it.
A question for those who claim that the van could have been “borrowed” and not stolen as it was not “reported” by her.
Well, how does that work when somebody unknown kills somebody and steals their car? Does the law have to wait for the dead body to phone in the criminal act of theft?

Oh man…what a brilliant attorney…bet she gets the big bucks…
This puzzles me too. We hear of people being picked up in possession of vehicles of missing people and they don’t simply let them go. Maybe it’s different because they were traveling together.

Yeah, I don’t know. But that videotape that came up about them having to be separated shortly before her disappearance and his acquisition of HER vehicle...alone....Shouldn’t that have sent up some red flags somewhere?
Kinda hard for dead people to report thefts. Just saying.
