I never had a flu shot until 2008, that I remember. My pulmonologist might have given me one or two. I know he gave me my first pneumonia shot. I had the flu so bad that year that when I got to the doctor my fever was 106. My husband had to carry me to the truck. They almost put me in the hospital. It took forever to get over it because of my asthma. I have taken the shot almost every year since, the only exception being if they say it’s not going to be a bad year. My doctor’s worry when I finally got it in February of this year was that I might get the flu and covid at the same time. She said to take the flu shot but didn’t advise getting the covid vaccination.
After all we have seen in the last year I’m not sure I trust the flu shot this year.
I started taking Calcium + D3 many many years ago. I have not had a serious case of flu or cold since then. I did get the pneumonia shot and the shingles vax, but have NEVER had the flu shot.
I had a particularly nasty case of a variant of the Hong Kong Flu back in the early 70s/late 60s. Took forever to get over it, and for about 5 years was still hacking and coughing before my lungs went back to normal-caught every bug that came around during that time frame, which quickly became bronchitis.
I wonder if that might have some peptides in common with the RONA - hoping I would have some of that pre-existing immunity we hear about.
