Struggling to get its workforce vaccinated, the MTA has pulled a $500,000 death benefit for any unvaccinated employees who succumb to COVID, The City has learned.
The MTA this week will extend through the end of the year the lump-sum payment and three years of health insurance to the survivors of vaccinated workers who die from the virus, a senior official said.
But workers who opt out of getting their shots could relinquish the rights of their loved ones to secure the benefit should they die — unless they had a “valid documented exception” to vaccination, according to a notice sent to employees by Paul Fama, the MTA’s chief people officer.
The MTA, which has 68,200 employees, has lost 171 of them to the pandemic so far, according to an agency spokesperson.
“It is more important than ever to consider how getting vaccinated not only protects you, but also your family,” Fama wrote in the memo, which was shared with The City. …

My guess is that there will be a fantastic “slow down” of the transit system.
On an actuarial basis this is meaningless.
Is it legal for them to do this? Not that that would bother them.

Based on how the CDC is currently approaching “breakthrough cases”, the MTA likely will now not have to pay out that benefit ever.
And even setting that aside, isn’t the “vaccine” being touted as safe and effective i.e. you shouldn’t be able to contract the virus, and if you did you almost certainly wouldn’t die from it?
A half million dollar death benefit? The taxpayers are quite generous over there.

You mean threatening to take away a future insurance benefit means nothing, it is the hitting of the bottom line now that will wirk?
Knowing the State of New York intentionally lied about COVID deaths, any MTA worker who dies will need an independent autopsy.
There are Federal subsidies in these transit agencies which means taxpayers everywhere have this burden.
And no recompense if the vaxx injures or kills them.

NYS has likely been cooking the death count higher, not lower.
Consider this: NYS counts asymptomatics, probables, and repeat positives of the same patient as new cases. Add those to the positives gotten with sky-high cycle thresholds.
That’s done to goose the case count and scare the public.
Now if there’s a high case count, but few dead bodies, who’s gonna be scared of a scamdemic that doesn’t kill many people?
They have to cook the death count higher.
States aren’t the only things in need of an audit.
So are CoupFlu stats. Including the mortality stats.
As if the 17½ mph average speed wasn’t slow enough.

Totally irresponsible to die from covid if you can give yourself 900% better odds by taking a vaccine. But I imagine this tiny bit of fiscal responsibility will be shut down by the anti-vax crowd as somehow empowering their members to die, but die rich.
