Oh, let me see......been fighting off back spasm pain with an unhealthy amount of naproxen......fell getting into the shower in the hall bathroom, pulled the curtain and liner off on the way down, and flooded the bathroom floor......not on speaking terms with my side of the family after being told that our family home of 57 years is being put up for sale to move my mother to Pittsburgh to live with my sister, and I had no input in it......and the cherry on top was from earlier in the week, when one of our cats came into the den here late one evening, went into the bathroom closet while I was a dozen feet away, then curled up and died for Connie to find the next morning, looking like she'd had a bus parked on her all weekend. She was devastated, and the other cats are still weirded out.

Damn. Not sure there’s anything I can say. Seems odd your family didn’t involve you. Stay strong and try to keep that sense of humor. Is anything going right?

There’s a deeper backstory to it, which I won’t go into, but that’s it, in a nutshell. Needless to say, the holidays will be spent down here for a long time. Even without the drama involved, it’s pretty much become logistically difficult, if not implossible, to handle things now. I’ll be 60 in another year and change, and my health ain’t what it used to be. My road warrior days are over.

Yeah, I hear that on outdoor projects. The weather finally broke a couple weeks ago, ending the beastly heat, rain, and triple digit heat indices we’ve been pummeled with since June. I was just telling her that I forgot to go check the plants this evening, trying to pick whatever tomatoes and peppers we have left. A few nore weeks and the plants will be spent. Need to do a LOT of hedge trimming. We blew almost two grand on a new riding mower, and I’ve used it exactly twice since we got it. She’s got a DIY landscape crew she’s been paying to come cut the lawn and weedeat. My uncle cashed out like that a few years ago. He was in his 80’s, had health issues, and the doc told him not to go out in the heat, even in he was on his riding mower. He did. They found him dead behind his truck, fallen off the seat in the driveway.

Yes be careful. Last week we were down to the upper 50’s which must be the end of growing season. Am not ready to let go of summer.

Got the yard done this weekend and did burgers on the grill this evening.

I am ready to let go of summer. Haven't been fishing once. Never did get the pool up and running. She's going to call the pool service late this fall and schedule to have them come out next April. I'll take some of that 50's anytime. I'm really wanting my life back, ya know? And so is she.
