Zoo officials say they believe a vaccinated employees who cares for the gorillas passed on the virus while asymptomatic. The employee was wearing protective equipment such as a mask and gloves.
The zoo says there is is no evidence that the gorillas can pass the virus back to humans and says visitors are too far away to be infected by gorillas.
Zoo Atlanta says at least 13 western lowland gorillas have tested positive for COVID-19, including their oldest male gorilla in captivity - a 60-year-old named Ozzie
Experts are now testing all 20 of Zoo Atlanta's gorillas, who live in four troops
Zookeepers are now treating the gorillas at risk of developing complications with monoclonal antibodies. They are testing all 20 of Zoo Atlanta's gorillas, who live in four troops.
'We are very concerned that these infections occurred, especially given that our safety protocols when working with great apes and other susceptible animal species are, and throughout the pandemic have been, extremely rigorous,' Dr. Sam Rivera, the zoo's senior director of animal health, said in a statement.
Rivera told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that Atlanta's gorillas appear to be the second group of great apes infected by COVID-19, after eight gorillas at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park were treated for the virus in January.

Too bad for them.
They haven’t been vaccinated, so they can’t get medical care.
And there are no available hospital beds because of all the unvaccinated gorillas.
Why are they testing the gorillas?
How do you say, “Damned Vaxx Shedders!” in gorilla??
Justice for Harambe!
Masks. They should have worn masks....
The Covidorilla variant.. coming to a propaganda network near you.
Hydroxychloroqine. Works well on gorillas.
So yeah they are telling us that a person stuck one of them swabs up a 13 gorillas noses? Yeah my spidy BS sensors just went off!
Animal reservoirs are why it cannot be eliminated, and one reason why
vaxing during pandemics just makes more “variants”.

My patience with unvaccinated gorillas is wearing thin....
if the culprit were not vaccinated, he would have infected 1300 gorillas, but thanks to dear Doctor Mengele Fauci this disaster was avoided.
it would be a good idea to give the culprit a few boosters, maybe 13.
There’s no accurate test for Covid. By design, it can’t diagnose illness, according to its inventor.
The tests in use were developed without access to isolated Covid virus samples.
The test has a 97%+ false positive rate.
Poor guerrillas will now have to endure a lifetime of social distancing and toxic ‘vaccines’ and boosters.
13 ???
Just how many do they have down there ???
Meanwhile sounds like gain of motion....
Paging Tony Fauci...
The vaccinated employee did wear a mask and other PPE, and still the Gorillas contracted Covid.
I think this would put to rest that this is a pandemic of the unvaccinated.
At least 13 gorillas test positive for COVID-19 at Atlanta zoo after 'becoming infected by vaccinated employee'

I thought there were no available hospital beds because of all the gorillas who OD’d on horse dewormers.
I beg all of you gorillas... PLEASE do not use horse dewormers! Horse dewormers are not for gorillas, they’re only supposed to be used on immigrants. C’mon man!
