Posting tonight because I won't 'be here' until after 10:28am, tomorrow. I'll do the usual Weekly PING after that.
Twenty years on, and it STILL feels like a gut-punch to me. I'm sure I'm not alone.
ON SEPTEMBER 11TH FROM 8:46am-10:28am...everyone on the internet should be silent, no postings or chat, from the time the first plane hit until the last building fell. Do this in memory of all who perished twenty years ago, today. Please remember the fallen and their families on this day. 🇺🇸

"Kills" me every year. This year, with what has been going on in Afghanistan, it's even worse.

Of course my best Garden Memories were made with my Grandma Anita. Man, that woman was something else. Married young, moved around a lot, but they always stayed rural until they ended up in Milwaukee, WI in their Golden Years. She took care of me from birth while Mom & Dad both worked. She was a Grandma at only 50. Gardening with her was always fun; it was never work. I thank God for her every day, and I see so much of her in me now that I'm older and how much I love to do the things she always did - just to survive. I only had her for a short 26 years. I miss her every day, but when I want to see her or talk to her, I just look in the mirror. :)
My Mother, Elaine, as a little kid, and my Grandma Anita. There were three other kids after Mom, but not for 14 years. Same two parents. No one knows why there was such an age gap. I was in my 20's before I got a First Cousin. Mom was born in 1937, so this is probably from 1940 or '41. Grandma sewed all of her own clothes and all of the clothes for the four kids, too.

Cooler weather but tomatoes ripening daily in this delayed season - picked about 350 cherry ones - while the butternut squash is abounding, praise God.

It was another hot, dry week here in Central Missouri. I’m having to run the sprinkler every other day to keep my new seedlings hydrated.
I have a tremendous crop of Anaheim chilis and jalapenos ready for harvest. Perfect timing to pick a bucket full to make into atomic buffalo turds while we’re camping at the racetrack this weekend.
Scratched up a spot Saturday and sowed the carrot seed that I had left over from the spring planting.
After getting home from the races we’ll put the camper away, repack the truck, and take off for a week of sun and fun in Pensacola Beach. Bad timing for my baby plants. They’ll just have to be tough while we’re gone.

I’ve collected a few seed pods from my potato plants.
Anyone know anything about growing potatoes from seeds?

again asking for advice.. if anyone knows....
I want to can red peppers....if I pickle them I can do them in my water bath canner...if I just use water, its the pressure cooker....
but I find no recipes for canning roasted MARINATED peppers from an official source...
so if I roast then pickle my peppers, when I open a jar later, can I then add olive oil and spices to marinated it?
