Wonder how long it’ll take before my dad reports me to one of those groups?

Think I’m exaggerating? When he found out I’d bought a pressure canner, he accused me of being a terrorist.

Proud Dog Mama Moment! My 'Sunshine' ('Sunny') has won the Minnesota State Coon Hunters Association Championship! She is one of the four puppies I raised in 2019; Sunny, Fox, Ho-Chunk and Oneida. Sunny's Daddy was our Yakama (RIP, Buddy!) Looking forward to more awards and titles for my girl in the future - and maybe some GrandPuppies, too! ❤

Sunshine as a puppy, on top of brothers Fox and Ho-Chunk:

Today's project was to clean out my first bed and get it prepped for fall plantings of spinach, lettuces and other fall greens. I also have a small cold frame I'm going to place in here, plus re-plant ALL THE SPRING BULBS these CHOWDER HEADS dug up! My solution was to put down pallets and some metal grate material we had on hand, then put the fencing back up and see if I can make them lose interest in the whole thing prior to planting. The ONLY garden bed they've touched is the one with the fencing around it. *Rolleyes*

The Problem:

The Solution?

I grew up in the county and we had a fence around our garden.
Mainly because we had free range cattle in the area. Usually
and acre or so for most rural families/homes.

I’ve raised 14 hound dog puppies now and these two are MAJOR diggers. It’s insane! My front yard looks like it’s been bombed, LOL! And they are not bored and they have one another and LOTS of interaction & training time with me, and tons of toys to play with, and all the JUNK they can drag into the house yard from who-knows where.

I’ve already discussed ‘alternatives’ with Beau. He wants them to run around free, which they should, but with the new paint job on the house, soon-to-be-new front porch where they LOVE to hang out, something has to give.

And it ain’t gonna be ME! :)

We have 160 acres for them to roam - and no roads to worry about. Nothing else bothers my garden. No deer, no rabbits, no raccoon - nothing! Probably because the puppies are always over there, digging to China, LOL!

again asking for advice.. if anyone knows....

I want to can red peppers....if I pickle them I can do them in my water bath canner...if I just use water, its the pressure cooker....

but I find no recipes for canning roasted MARINATED peppers from an official source...

so if I roast then pickle my peppers, when I open a jar later, can I then add olive oil and spices to marinated it?

“so if I roast then pickle my peppers, when I open a jar later, can I then add olive oil and spices to marinated it?”

I would do it that way. I don’t know of any guidance for water bath canning of marinated (usually in oil) peppers.

When I dehydrate tomatoes, most go into the freezer, but I will make a few jars that I cover with olive oil, and throw a couple of garlic cloves in there, and a few sprigs of Rosemary. I keep them on the counter for a few days to marinate, then I keep the jars in the fridge, always making sure the oil is covering everything so I don’t get any mold. The oil will harden in the fridge, so leave it out on the counter for a while to warm it up before serving/using.

New thread up in a few minutes - you may want to ask your question again this morning after I ping everyone for a bigger audience. :)
