McDonald's is one of the most recognizable brands in the world and is often synonymous with fast food in general. The chain has more than 36,000 locations in more than 100 countries, including nearly 14,000 in the US. McDonald's revenue totaled $19.21 billion in 2020, with an income of $4.73 billion.
The typical McDonald's customer is a married white woman between the ages of 41 and 56, according to data provided by analytics firm Numerator. She likely lives in a suburban area in the southeastern US, and her household makes more than $80,000 a year. This typical shopper either has an undergraduate degree or attended some college.
The average McDonald's customer is strikingly similar to the typical Walmart customer, who is also a married white woman in the southeastern US suburbs.
The McDonald's shopper spends an average of $8.35 per trip to the fast-food chain, purchasing three items per visit. She makes 44 McDonald's trips per year, and she's most likely to buy soda, sausage breakfast sandwiches, hash browns, crispy chicken sandwiches, and french fries.
Breakfast items make up almost half of the typical McDonald's customer's regular purchases, and the chain is considered the best fast food breakfast, according to a customer survey conducted by Insider. The chain discontinued all-day breakfast in March 2020, to the great dismay of many customers, Kate Taylor reported for Insider.(snip)
This typical McDonald's customer frequents fast-food restaurants in general. She makes 149 trips to quick-service restaurants in a year, amounting to several visits each week. Just about one-third of those fast food stops are at McDonald's. Her average spending on all of these trips is $11.99, which is close to the total average spending of $12.20 across all quick service.

I know, my grocery bill with 4x teenagers is through the roof. But they’re all in sports, exercise a lot, and in great shape. I’m happy to foot the food bill since they’re not laying around on their phones, watching videos, playing video games being slackers.
Not bad for you at all. I workout much more than the average person and the egg mcmuffin fits my post workout macro goals just fine. Sometimes I have two.
310 calories, have them throw on some mustard and skip the hashbrowns.
Sorry folks, that ain’t a middle aged white woman.
More likely an hispanic teenager.
I could eat like that and stay slim….it’s in the genes.
.
The photo posted at the top of the article is definitely not representative of the physique of an average McDonald’s customer.

Yeah, that’s not a Micky D frequent flyer.
i’m a big fan of the sausage biscuits.
I have been to a Mickey Ds or a Burger King, in years. Hands down, FIVE GUYS is light years ahead of both.
I think you nailed that - or what people used to call some blacks - “high yellow”. Which I never really understood, but I heard people say that growing up in the south.
there are alot of FR’s that can’t tolerate anybody getting enjoyment out of anything.
What, exactly, is your idea of a ‘Karen”? I know what blacks think, but I am curious how a person on a conservative forum describes her.
None of them EVER walk into a McDonalds.
*************
Many of their customers don’t. They use the drive thru and
off they go. Eat on the road or take it home or work.
That was my first reaction she looks like an 18 years old teenage girl.
Pretty much my family also...............
Oh obviously toasting an English muffin at home and adding a fried egg and a sausage patty is morally and nutritionally superior to getting the same at McDonald’s /s
Reminds me...not too long ago I was at a Goldend Corral and after observing what people were wearing I thought it was like I was in a Wal-Mart..then I realized I was at a Golden Corral in a Wal-Mart shopping center....
Good but too darn expensive!
It seems odd that with such a huge company with a huge customer base, that they can identify a typical McDonald’s customer.
Somewhere Don Rickles is smiling about that zinger.
