McDonald's is one of the most recognizable brands in the world and is often synonymous with fast food in general. The chain has more than 36,000 locations in more than 100 countries, including nearly 14,000 in the US. McDonald's revenue totaled $19.21 billion in 2020, with an income of $4.73 billion.
The typical McDonald's customer is a married white woman between the ages of 41 and 56, according to data provided by analytics firm Numerator. She likely lives in a suburban area in the southeastern US, and her household makes more than $80,000 a year. This typical shopper either has an undergraduate degree or attended some college.
The average McDonald's customer is strikingly similar to the typical Walmart customer, who is also a married white woman in the southeastern US suburbs.
The McDonald's shopper spends an average of $8.35 per trip to the fast-food chain, purchasing three items per visit. She makes 44 McDonald's trips per year, and she's most likely to buy soda, sausage breakfast sandwiches, hash browns, crispy chicken sandwiches, and french fries.
Breakfast items make up almost half of the typical McDonald's customer's regular purchases, and the chain is considered the best fast food breakfast, according to a customer survey conducted by Insider. The chain discontinued all-day breakfast in March 2020, to the great dismay of many customers, Kate Taylor reported for Insider.(snip)
This typical McDonald's customer frequents fast-food restaurants in general. She makes 149 trips to quick-service restaurants in a year, amounting to several visits each week. Just about one-third of those fast food stops are at McDonald's. Her average spending on all of these trips is $11.99, which is close to the total average spending of $12.20 across all quick service.

USA customer vs. European
My friend had a quad bypass so he orders two without cheese and some sugary monstrosity. I always get a kick out of that
I’m relieved to confirm that your wife is married.
That’s too bad. We enjoy it occasionally. People like you seem to derive some odd form of superiority because you never go to McDonald’s. Like a shopping choice makes you better than someone else. LOL.
All I see are boring stick in the mud losers that can’t tolerate the thought that other people might get enjoyment at times from something like McDonald’s.
“She makes 44 McDonald’s trips per year Almost once a week, I don’t buy it.”
My wife has all female employees. Mostly 25-45 years old.
They either pick up fast food lunch or have it delivered every single day. My wife takes in leftover 2 days per week and they look at her like a nut.
My wife has never seen her employees bring in lunch from home except home made cookies or cake.
I don’t go to McDonald’s either except for the occasional vanilla shake—maybe once a year.
HOWEVER, When my son was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, my daughter and I drove across the state at night to see him and bought a burger, fries and the works for portable dinner. Didn’t hate it. But don’t need to go back.
It most likely is.
The most obese people can be found at Chinese buffets.
I see that as well, the back office staff get grubhub delivered and then complain they don't have gas money. I eat my homemade sandwich.
Ahhh, those were the days. I’ll always remember my dad yelling at me in disbelief as I was making myself a Dagwood sandwich about an hour after dinner.
I ate breakfast at the kitchen table with my siblings every morning before school right up to my Senior year.
I’m a 60 year old male and I love me an Egg McMuffin or sausage burrito. Both are relatively low calorie and filling. I stop for one or the other on the way home from the gym regularly.
Oh yes there is, the biscuit is much better :)
Don’t underestimate the impact grandchildren have on going to that awful place. They even brainwashed them into getting apple slices you could easily make at home. It’s absurd.

Seriously, How challenging is it to wash and apple and throw down an apple corer??
Not the demographic ive seen in ANY mcdonalds, anywhere. The complexion of the place has changed, and it has legions of homeless day campers on their cellphones/tablets using the wi-fi and stinking the place up. Not a pleasant experience in dining. Their take out may have this described customer. Not eat in. But then, their original game plane was ALL take out- walk up order and get your order in 30 seconds.
The Mcdonald brothers were geniuses, and Ray Kroc just a run of the mill greasy greedy tenacious swindler.
Think of it as realty. LOL there is a McDonalds in Tyre, Lebanon. just saw it on a sat photo.

Nice virtue signaling, Mr. Virtuous.
Your nasty old lady never walks in there, she rides her scooter.
Your brats probably couldn't even get hired there.
Signal your virtue some more.
Yeah, this is marketing spin, not actual research. You can find videos of a McManager trying to break up a McBrawl between a ghettopotamus and someone who “dissed” her. (Often an employee who gave her an answer she didn’t like).
In Texas, there are is another breakfast option
Whataburger’s honey butter chicken biscuits with cheese.

You’d be surprised that many of the women who stop in McDonald’s are not fat. The comparison to the women you find at Wal-Mart is way different.
Many of the women in the drive-through in the morning are on their way to work.
