In support of these insights, Savage references peer reviewed studies from top-notch universities and the National Institute on Drug Abuse, and advances a research proposal of his own: A retrospective study of covid patients, asking them if and how much marijuana they ingest and the method of ingestion. Then correlate that with their covid outcome."

As one who makes distillation equipment for pharmaceutical extraction of cannabinoids I guess I am one of the evil FR drug dealers. As with all drugs they can be abused. All the magical elixirs advertised are pretty much snake oil. But properly dosed amounts of THC or CBD or CBN have great effects on neurological diseases. Compare the effects of cannabinoids on the organs to commonly prescribed powerful drugs to treat things like nerve pain or Parkinsons.

I can’t listen to the guy anymore. Last time I heard a podcast he did nothing but complain about how oppressed he is, how smart he is, and was going on about how poor he was.
45 years? That’s long enough to qualify for paid participation in research studies on the long term effects. Heck, there’s probably a million-plus Americans who’ve been smoking it for 50+ years who could participate in some way. I think $25/hour would be fair, with the option to be paid in buds, etc. if your state has it decriminalized. I don’t know of any such programs or studies but maybe there have already been such studies conducted and because the news was too good to share, we never heard about it.
I miss Jim Eason and Herb Caen a lot more than Savage.
If you wanted a restaurant review, Savage had ‘em.
Podcasts seem so .. canned.
I don’t like canned, I like fresh.
Stories of his dog Teddy and his health connected us but after Trump kicked him to the curb, he was never the same. Savage, not Teddy.
He should have started his own restaurant, wrote more books, his books will be his legacy, not his podcasts..
I think marijuana can be abused.
Like a lot of things can be abused.
But I am 100% behind medical marijuana.
I don’t want to make anyone use marijuana anymore than I want them to get the shot.
Personally, I an 100% against getting the covid19-24 shot IF you are not at risk..it makes no sense.
Anyone who would get the flu shot MIGHT be a candidate.
It’s totally insane to give the shot to healthy 20 something’s or younger.
Actually,younger than 60 doesn’t make sense.
They seem to be increasing in number lately too.

As a FORMER regular pot smoker (years ago), I can honestly say that there is no good reason to get “HIGH”.
Pot is not good for you and alcohol is not good for you.

Just don’t try and tell me it’s “good for you”. It’s NOT! You would be better off without either.

People who drink alcohol are healthier. Among people who drink alcohol there are fewer people with disease for many diseases.

That’s truly what you come back to me with? I inform you that alcohol has done more to destroy society than Marijuana will ever do and you ask if I’m a dealer? So share with me please I’m genuinely interested, what’s your beef with Marijuana? Do you share the same disdain for alcohol?
Yes I do. I’ve been in engineering and technical disciplines my entire career troubleshooting, maintaining and designing electrical systems, combat systems, comm systems, sigint and esm systems on navy ships. I understand way more than you think. You should not judge a book by its cover, just like you should not believe the studies that make these wild claims about a weed, that God created for our consumption if one chooses.

Be it genetics, or my mostly active working hours, I can seemingly fall asleep at will.
The only times I’ve been chemically knocked out was for surgery (broken leg, 1965, and L4-L5 disc trim, 2000).
Savage is kind of an a$$hole. But as a scientist he is more expert than most “experts”.
