Gerald E. Harmon, M.D.
President, American Medical Association
AMA Plaza
330 N. Wabash Ave., Suite 39300
Chicago, IL 60611-5885
Dear Dr. Harmon:
The AMA has taken the startling and unprecedented position that American physicians should immediately stop prescribing, and pharmacists should stop honoring their prescriptions for ivermectin for COVID-19 patients. The AMA is thus contradicting the professional judgment of a very large number of physicians, who are writing about 88,000 prescriptions per week. It also contradicts the Chairman of the Tokyo Medical Association, Haruo Ozaki, who recommended that all doctors in Japan immediately begin using Ivermectin to treat COVID.
AMA claims that ivermectin is dangerous and ineffective despite the safe prescription of billions of doses since 1981, and the mostly favorable results of 63 controlled studies in COVID-19.
AMA does not specify any recommended early treatments, but simply urges face masks, distancing, and vaccination.
Our members would appreciate clarification of the AMA’s stand on the following questions:
- What are the criteria for advocating that pharmacists override the judgment of fully qualified physicians who are responsible for individual patients?
- What are the criteria for forbidding off-label use of long-approved drugs, which constitute at least 20 percent of all prescriptions?
- On what basis does AMA demand use only within a clinical trial for ivermectin, but call for virtually universal vaccination outside of controlled trials, despite FDA warnings of potential cardiac damage in healthy young patients, and no information about long-term effects?
We believe that these questions get to the heart of issues of physician and patient autonomy, as well as scientific principles such as the need for a control group in experiments.
We look forward to your response.
Sincerely yours,
Jane M. Orient, M.D., Executive Director

Yes, but it’s really low. Less than 1% in all 50 states, Arkansas almost a full 1%. Basically zero
If they kept records on Iver I bet it would have breakthrough cases or deaths as well, if it indeed works. Who knows

Only the ones who took the dose designed for 1,500 pound horses. Most people walking around, like the current 46% of Biden supporters, are morons.

If you had been paying attention on FreeRepublic, YOU would know.
Do some research, on your own, on how successful the country of India has been using Ivermectin.
It will remove all doubt for you concerning Ivermectin.

It is criminal, and it is murder. How many thousands have needlessly died because of advice from such people. It is beyond a reasonable doubt and absolutely a foreseeable consequence that if you discourage a life-saving drug to be given, that people will die. The excuse that they thought Ivermectin is too dangerous, or could not possibly be effective, is an excuse that a child would make, and it will not hold up in a criminal trial. They have thousands of people’s blood on their hands, and the media is in a similar boat. How they can live with themselves is beyond me.

This journal, JAPANDS, which Jane Orient's AAPS publishes, had this article: "The Sixth Extinction: Vaccine Immunity and Measles Mutants in a Virgin Soil," by Anti-VAXXER grifter, Andrew Wakefield. In that article Wakefield argues that we’re heading for a sixth extinction because of—you guessed it!—vaccines.
That's all I need to know about crank, conspiracy mongering, fake medical professional, Jane Orient.

False hope? My family took Ivermectin from a doctor. Noone got that sick. Husband had his second heart attack with bypass surgery 6 months before getting COVID. He is diabetic and is a cancer survivor. His cardiologist assumed he spent weeks in ICU. I am also older and have a heart rhythym problem. I have asthma. No problems at all. We also took everything on the Eastern Virginia Medical School Protocol which includes Ivermectin. The government needs to stay the hell out of my business. I do not trust them at all. Remember the Tuskegee Syphyllis study? Pure evil.

“AAP fact checked the claim and found it was baseless.”
Fact checkers are notoriously wrong; or should I say owned.

“Sounds like the AMA is abroad people will take ivermectin instead of getting vaccinated.”
At this point, literally NO ONE in the US will get ‘vaccinated’ just because they can’t get Ivermectin. And the reasons for that is the vaccines have failed, and they see just that. It’s no longer their right-wing paranoia, it’s facts on the ground in Israel, and now the US.
So, do we allow them to have Ivermectin, which has never been proven to NOT work, and which has shown in dozens of smaller studies TO WORK, or do we ‘punish’ them for not taking the vaccine by leaving them to roll the dice with the virus?

““There is no evidence that new guidance on the use of ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine led to a reduction in COVID-19 cases in India,” they found.”
That’s my understanding too. The above statement is correct, as it was ONLY Ivermectin that ended the virus there a few months ago.
The Indian state of Uttar Pradesh has a population of 225 MILLION people, and a 7-day average daily case rate of 28. Roughly one case per 8 million people. The US population is about 330 Million and the LOWEST daily case rate was 12,000...nearly 500 times higher.
Perhaps it’s not Ivermectin, but if not, then what, social distancing and masks? Really? Well, how about countries like Japan, where they follow government edicts religiously? Their daily rates are still far higher than Uttar Pradesh, and I suspect their compliance rates with government edicts are significantly higher too.
