For a 280 pound pet:
.2 mg/kg X 127 kg = 25.4 mg of ivermectin = 22%
.4 mg/kg X 127 kg = 50.8 mg of ivermectin = 45%
.6 mg/kg X 127 kg = 76.2 mg of ivermectin = 67%
You get the percentage from the old formula “% x Whole = Part” To get the %, you figure part/whole.
Or just divide your body weight by 2.2 and that’s your weight in kilograms, which is how IVM paste is given. Easy Peasy.
“Have you checked why the ivermectin used to treat horses is dangerous for humans?”
I have not seen that it is dangerous for humans unless the dose is too large. Anything will kill given a large enough dose.
Now, look at the horse paste/gel math: (6.08g x .0187) / (1250 / 2.2)kg = [drum roll]... .0002001/kg. That’s .2mg/kg, THE EXACT SAME DOSE AS FOR HUMANS.
Calling it a “horse de wormer” is like calling water a “horse beverage”. What a disgustingly dishonest lie of omission that may cost lives. I am beyond disgusted with the propaganda.
media lies...they set narratives and then pick some out of the way area to show the whole country and nobody knows the difference.
[ Information for proper dosage is not rocket science!
Equine Ivermectin comes as a 1.87% Paste. Net weight of 6.08 gm. How much paste should a 200# person take?]
If the applicator has a notch for each 50 lbs.
Then it is four notches
You didn’t read what I posted.
A horse tube has 113,750 mcg of ivermectin. “Well tolerated and safe” for AN ENTIRE TUBE works out to a person who weighs 57 kg or 125 lbs!”
And that, in turn, means someone over 125 lbs taking an ENTIRE tube would get a dose that has already been tested on humans and found to be “well tolerated and safe...”!
For COVID, recommended protocols found in various studies suggest using either a 1:1 ration of human to horse (ie, a 150 lb person dialing in the syringe for 150 lbs) or double that (a 150 lb person dialing in 300 lbs of horse wormer). I have the stuff around for my horses. If I catch COVID, they will send me home to wait to see if I get really sick - and in that case, I’ll take a double dose based on the information I’ve seen. And believe I’m well inside what a human can take safely - per government published studies.
They may have gotten some quotes from a (cooperative) doctor but I’d say the whole thing is fiction the #FakeNews media has concocted.
The fact that numerous media outlets have all come out with obvious propaganda about Ivermectin within the space of a week is pretty good evidence of that.
I agree. The vast majority of households have several meds, both Rx and OTC, that are much more dangerous than Ivermectin. Most people have the sense to read the label if they’re not already familiar with their meds.
One more in a long list of media gaslighting stories on Ivermectin produced in the last week.
The MEDIA is a virus, and it is completely out of control.
That’s no lie!
I wouldn’t shed a tear if they were all drowned in industrial strength bleach.
Sterilize the industry.
Yea, you’re right. My bad!
I know several times the regular dosage (upto ~20x I believe) is perfectly safe, just didn’t see you were talking about a 10x dose in your post :p
I live in a very red county in a blue state, Washington, but recently we have been seeing the local news spreading more BS about CASES, CASES, CASES, hospitals are FULL, everyone is on a ventilator!
Of course this CBS affiliate is owned by the parent CBS group and is pushing the regime's lies about the covid crap.
It's incredible the Psyops propaganda machine we're up against.
You could ask a doctor what the difference is between Ivermectin for livestock and that for humans. I talked to my pharmacist about taking it meant for livestock and she laughed, saying it was not meant for humans. She said I would be foolish to take it. I should have asked what was the difference in the ingredients that makes it dangerous for humans.
Doing a quick search, this is what I read:
“many inactive ingredients found in animal products aren’t evaluated for use in people,” the FDA warned. “In some cases, we don’t know how those inactive ingredients will affect how ivermectin is absorbed in the human body.”
Ivermectin tablets and topical formulations for humans have “very specific doses” that are significantly smaller than the doses meant for animals, the agency explained.
> Have you checked why the ivermectin used to treat horses is dangerous for humans? There has to be a good reason.
There are two reasons.
1. formulations that have something in them other than ivermectin and inert, safe-for-humans substances
2. people taking an entire tube of the safe stuff
That’s it.
It’s easy to find the stuff that is just ivermectin and filler. The fillers are well known and already safe for humans.
It’s easy to take a proper dose. The tube has a marked plunger. Doses PER POUND OF WEIGHT for humans and horses ARE THE SAME. But you probably don’t weight 1250 pounds, which is what the package clearly states that it will treat. If you weigh 250 pounds, start with 1/5 tube. The government could make this entirely safe by listing exactl product names (e.g. Duramectin) and showing you how much to use how often.
Look carefully at most of the warnings. They are about overdosing.
You are welcome.
