“Is the author lying, misinformed or gaslighting?”
That’s the big question. I would have added “is the author willfully stupid or incurious about the medication?”
Every single article that starts off with “Horse dewormer” and/or “animal dewormer” tells you everything you need to know about what’s coming.
Lady, it's because I don't have anyone expecting to drink my urine.
This gaslighting is getting stupid.
I have a scrip for Ivermectin. It was written by a doctor and filled at CVS.
Is it a cream of those giant Horse pills ?
It is like Apple flavored vasoline. Comes in a large syringe with the dosage marked specific to the weight of the “patient”. One tube treats a 1250lb horse.
another misleading headline.
Wow, I would not use it on goats, well at least not all the herd. Haemonchus contortus has a demonstrated resistance to Ivomec. Maybe if I graded goats using FAMACHA to determine the level of anemia of animals - then I would use.
Valbazen is good choice nowadays for our flock. And so much cheaper. I don't remember Ivomec costing as much ($95 for 1 liter) as it does. It's still available where we buy meds but with a "Not Safe or Approved for Human Use Which Could Cause Severe Injury or Death" warning. That prudent on the part of the company. There's plenty of smart people that could self-dose. There's also plenty of stupid people that could not self dose.
If it were just an animal dewormer then it would not be available in prescription tablet form in pharmacies for human use. It has also been studied as having antiviral properties before this pandemic...albeit it is very difficult to find articles anymore since most of them that come up on a search are the newer articles about it - there are so many.
This article’s narrative is false even if it were completely ineffective against COVID19.
You remind me of a coworker from Austria. He asked us the first night he was over why there were so many Christian denominations in America, when everyone knows you should attend the church that was the biggest, because it was obviously the best.
IT IS BECAUSE THE GOVERNMENT IS PUSHING A SHITTY ALTERNATIVE... WELL NOT PUSHING IT BY ANGLING TO MAKE IT MANDATORY!!!!!
AS WELL AS SLANDERING AND SMEARING VIABLE ALTERNATIVES!!!!!
THIS IS WHY YOU DAMNED MORONS!!!
It is about your location. Valbazen does not work where I live. Many experts now are commending combo treatments as single treatments are causing resistance, as well as practicing refugia (which is where FAMACHA comes in handy). Studies and explanation here:

The4 more the media screams about ivermectin being BAD... the more people will pursuit “alternative sources”
If the FDA wanted this shit to go away they would put emergency OTC authorization to ivermectin to be sold over the counter.
We could ramp up production and make it as plentiful as tylenol...
WHICH BY THE WAY IS MORE DANGEROUS THAN IVERMECTIN!!!
But of course this would end their little epidemic overnight and the vax companies would be sad...
...frustrating store owners and irritating farmers.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And possibly saving lives.
Beth Glasmann, who owns a hobby farm in Goshen, said she is down to her last tube of ivermectin and hasn’t been able to find a refill at her local farm stores or online.
“It makes no sense to me,” she said. “If you use it on goats, you have to withdraw from drinking the milk for seven days and from eating the meat for 14 days. So, why people think it’s a good idea to put that into their body I have no idea.”
What a moron!
That regulation was from the USDA, not the FDA!
The USDA is notoriously conservative about slaughter/milk dates for ANY animal medication!!!!!
If you gave a damned cow an aspirin you would have to wait 7/14 days until you squeezed a teat or ran into the slaughterhouse to be USDA compliant!
Not that weird considering what has been known by NIH for nearly a decade.
Ivermectin inhibits infection by HIV-1 and DENV which rely on Impα/β1-mediated nuclear transport
Nuclear import of viral proteins is critical to the life cycle of many viruses, including many RNA viruses that replicate exclusively in the cytoplasm such as DENV, respiratory syncytial virus and rabies [2,3,31,48,49]. In the case of HIV, the virus generates a PIC (pre-integration complex), consisting of the newly transcribed viral cDNA and several HIV (e.g. IN) and host proteins. The PIC is then transported into the nucleus most likely through the action of IN [26], subsequent to which IN integrates the viral cDNA into the host cell genome, which is essential for productive infection [50]. Owing to these critical nuclear functions of IN, it is likely that inhibition of IN nuclear import will impede productive HIV infection.
Duh. Jumping out of an airplane without wearing a parachute is dangerous too. We are surrounded by morons.
You can’t write a story about Ivermectin unless you throw in the magic words “you are not a horse”.
These are the same 42% of the jerks who think Biden is doing a good job inviting 200,000 illegal aliens a month to rape and murder Americans.
BUT..... IF you went to the ER thinking you had WuFlu they would test you and while waiting for the results give you a drug that IS NOT an approved treatment for WuFlu, has not been tested as such and is super easy to over dose on and can destroy your liver if you take any more then recommended. Which will probably kill you.
That drug is Tylenol.
Just something to think about.
I’ll have to take a look at combo treatments again. We treat any animal that scores FAMACHA 3-5. Thankfully, we have not have had a score in that range in several years.
That disease that concerns me the most nowadays in Johne’s. Not really a good definitive per animal test (still and yet). My DVM suggested it is much more prevalent in dairy cattle than is acknowledged.
