The developer of ivermectin is performing late-stage trials on a drug that could actually prevent COVID-19.
Merck & Co partnered with Ridgeback Biotherapeutics to develop molnupiravir.
Enrollment for late-stage trials for their drug have already started....
The drug, which can be taken via a pill, is now entering late stage trials in the United States as Merck plans to eventually seek FDA approval.
Over 1,300 volunteers aged 18 or older will be recruited for the study and live in a house with someone who has a symptomatic case of the COVID-19.
Merck also plans to use the drug in some lower income countries in the meanwhile, attempting to acquire emergency authorization.
The company has partnered with Indian generic drug manufacturers to produce and sell versions of molnupiravir in the country, pending approval from local regulators.
Merck hopes the drug could help alleviate these countries COVID-19 situations while they await a larger supply of the vaccine. '

Merck is a powerhouse
I had their rather thick manual
That and my PDR
A few episodes of Medical Center, General Hospital and St Elsewhere and I became a de facto physician

Gee; it’s almost like a virus was released on the world just so big pharma could make and sell drugs to treat or cure it.
The cynic in me says this is highly possible. Maybe it’s because big pharma had actually been losing money in the 10 years preceding covid.

seems to be a potential wonder drug...so long as you don’t suggest it might help with “covid”:
29 Aug: UK Express: Anti-parasitic drug discovered in 1975 could be ‘game-changer’ in fight against cancer
An anti-parasitic drug discovered in 1975 could be a “game-changer” in the fight against cancer, scientists have claimed.
Since its discovery by the Kitasato Institute in Tokyo, Ivermectin has been used to treat some of the world’s most persistent tropical diseases including onchocerciasis, helminthiases, and scabies...
Now scientists at Canada-based pharmaceutical company Mountain Valley MD claim to have found a way to dissolve the drug into a substance they are calling Ivectosol...
According to Mountain Valley MD, Ivermectin could kick start the death of cancerous cells when injected directly into a tumour...
The trials aim to put the drug up against some of the world’s hardest to treat cancers including triple-negative breast cancer, metastatic melanoma, and non-small cell lung carcinoma.
And because Ivermectin is already so well-understood, Mountain Valley MD hopes they’ll be able to bring their new product to market far faster than would otherwise be possible...
If approved this could potentially mean that Ivectosol would be ready for consideration for human applications by early 2022 in the US.
And because the US market is considered the benchmark for much of the rest of the world, global approvals would follow soon thereafter...

Yup, it’s probably just reformulated Ivermectin. Exactly. It is a pretty old strategy
Take an old out of patent drug approved drug, slightly alter the molecule and resubmit it for approval claiming it is improved.
It may not perform any better than the old drug or it may perform worse, but it can be marketed as long as they can show it is safe and effective.
Since they have slandered Ivermectin to the point that a great percentage of the population believe it is only safe for live stock they can easily get them to pay thousands of dollars per dose for a nearly identical drug.

Quercetin, Zinc, D3, C, and NAC works just fine, thank you.
I’m not planning on supporting big pharma, I’d rather buy ammo.

Good choice
Unfortunately a large percentage of the population is highly susceptible to propaganda that appeals to their notions of intellectual superiority.

MERCK is one of the donors the the CDC Foundation. Our Federal tax dollars go the CDC, the CDC starts it's own 501c3 and all the pharmas contribute money (e.g., Pfizer, Merck, J&J) and the biggest donor is Eugenecist Bill Gates. The CDC Foundation used to have text talking about how their 'partners' guided their work (Bill Gates our physician) but they have toned it down a little.
It's a shame Bill Gates directs CDC/NIH policy; he cackles and smirks when he talks about the next 'pandemic'.
It's the captured, corrupt medical system that is killing people, not disease. Doctors are controlled by CDC and threats to carryout Bill Gates plans for 'human health.'

Google “you are not a horse” (with quotes) 18,100,000 hits, “you are not a cow” 10,100,00 hits, “Seriously, y’all” only 191,000 hits.
The FDA/Big Pharma propaganda has gone viral (pun intended).
