Ohio Judge Orders Hospital to Treat Ventilated COVID-19 Patient With Ivermectin

A Butler County judge in Ohio has ordered a hospital to administer Ivermectin to a ventilated COVID-19 patient, granting an emergency relief filed by the patient’s wife.

Butler County Common Pleas Judge Gregory Howard ruled last week that West Chester Hospital, part of the University of Cincinnati’s health network UC Health, must “immediately administer Ivermectin” to patient Jeffrey Smith following his doctor’s prescription of 30 mg of Ivermectin for 21 days, the Ohio Capital Journal reported.

Smith, 51, is a Verizon Wireless engineer in Butler County. According to the lawsuit (pdf) filed by his wife Julie Smith, Smith tested positive for COVID-19 on July 9, and he was admitted to West Chester Hospital on July 15. On the same day, he was moved to an intensive care unit (ICU).

Smith’s condition continued to decline, and he was placed on a ventilator on Aug. 1. By Aug. 19, the ventilator was operating at 80 percent volume, with Smith’s chances of survival dropping to less than 30 percent, court documents read. At that time, the hospital claimed to have exhausted all options in its COVID-19 treatment protocol.

“At this point, there is nothing more the defendant can do, or will do, for my husband,” Julie wrote in an affidavit included in her complaint.

“However, I cannot give up on him, even if the defendant has,” Julie continued. “There is no reason why the defendant cannot approve or authorize other forms of treatments so long as the benefits outweigh the risks.”

It’s too late by the time they are on ventilator and judges make poor doctors.

“There is no reason why the defendant cannot approve or authorize other forms of treatments so long as the benefits outweigh the risks.”

Ivermectin has been prescribed for human usage for decades. If given in the proper dosage, it is harmless to the patient. The only harm that I can see is that the public will start to see that there is a low cost treatment / antiviral that is effective against Covid. And that threatens the EUA for the vaccines.

“...and judges make poor doctors”.

Are you saying the judge did the wrong thing?

What about that law that Trump had passed that allowed people to choose a drug?

The FDA and the medical establishment are dusting off old Nazi playbooks. When a judge has to intervene in the practice of medicine to save a patient, that is a clue of the fascism we are living under.

The hospital is saying, “You are going to die, and you will die the way we say you will die, and you will have no say in the matter!!”

The judge knows this. The objective is to establish ivermectin is IN-effective as a treatment for Covid

Not necessarily but I’ve seen politicians BAN the use of Ivermectin. We should be able to choose our course of treatment.

“...and judges make poor doctors.”

On the one hand I agree with the statement and it's sentiment. on the other a patient ought to be able to exercise the treatment option should they desire.

Yep. Seems like the Right To Try act, or whatever its name is, would apply here. No “official” treatment, but a few that have shown positive results in similar circumstances.

If they had done it early on, it might have made a difference, but at this point I fear it is too late.

You’re right. To deny people treatments that work or not is criminal. This whole Covid thing is such a travesty and infuriating beyond belief.

Interestingly, the EVMS MATH+ Hospital Treatment Protocol for COVID-19 actually DOES recommend Ivermectin throughout all phases of the disease, right up to severe hypoxia and your deathbed:

21. Escalation of respiratory support (steps)

There is widespread concern that using High Flow Nasal Canula (HFNC) could increase the risk of viral transmission. There is however, no evidence to support this fear. HFNC is a better option for the patient and the health care system than intubation and mechanical ventilation. CPAP/BiPAP may be used in select patients, notably those with COPD exacerbation or heart failure.

“It’s too late by the time they are on ventilator and judges make poor doctors.”

The judge deferred to the man’s doctor. Do you have an issue with that?

Yep.

The guy is dying, according to them, so, why not?

What have they got to lose?

and judges make poor doctors.

At times, unfortunately, they make better doctors than doctors do. Especially if the doctor has been sucked into an insane hospital protocol that routinely pushes patients' relatives to sign a "Do Not Resuscitate" order governing the patient's care so the hospital can let the patient die and reap both a COVID death bounty worth $35,000 from the state's "health" bureaucracy and an empty bed that can house the next victim. It sounds unbelievable, but it has happened a lot. Early in the Covid panic, Elmhurst Hospital in Queens was exposed in videos doing it.

And a top-ranked hospital in Manhattan tried to pull the same s*** on a friend's mother--pretending he had signed a DNR for her. When they couldn't produce one, they claimed he'd given them one verbally. Fortunately, he pulled her out of there and found another hospital. She lived. P.S.: She didn't have COVID, either.
