The United States is facing a COVID-19 surge this summer as the more contagious delta variant spreads.
More than 637,000 Americans have died from COVID-19 while over 4.5 million people have died from the disease worldwide, according to real-time data compiled by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.
Just 61.2% of Americans ages 12 and up are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Study provides more details on vaccine strength for immunocompromised
Fully vaccinated immunocompromised individuals still produce immunity, but at reduced levels compared to healthy individuals, according to a study released Monday by the American College of Physicians.
Researchers at the Washington University School of Medicine compared antibody responses between 133 immunosuppressed and 53 healthy participants between Dec. 10, 2020, and March 20. The study looked at mRNA COVID-19 vaccines produced by Pfizer and Moderna.
The study's main findings found reduced antibody levels in the immunosuppressed group, particularly those taking steroids and specific drugs depleting white blood cells.
Researchers said the study emphasizes the need for booster shots among immunocompromised patients.

This is the first time I've heard about depleted white blood cells in regards to covid, the vaccine, and immunity.

Shocking, since the number of Americans voluntarily opted to get jabbed with an experimental vaccine will exceed 200,000,000 well before year 2021 ends. That is almost 3 times votes either Biden or Trump received in 2020.
I am convinced Americans are more scared of covid than lefty Biden, after looking at those numbers.

All things we would have known had we done traditional testing. Instead they decided to run testing on the entire world. We will learn more of this massive mistake as the months and years wear on.
The CDC is moving the goal posts yet again.
Death is scary, even though it is inevitable. Some people have been convinced that it will kill them.
Many got it because they were coerced or offered empty promises that ultimately proved untrue, like not having to wear a mask, or that they wouldn’t get sick.
I think we are starting to see that every promise has proved dubious if not completely false.
The promoters of the vaccines are not dissuaded by failure, they just keep doubling down.
In other words, the CDC is admitting that this video is/was correct.
