Top ivermectin expert says deworming drug does not treat COVID, that it poses no danger to humans if taken in the correct dose - and that people are getting sick because they're taking high-strength version intended for large animals Dr Timothy Geary is a renowned parasite expert and has studied ivermectin for over a decade He says the drug does not have any effectiveness fighting viruses, and a study showing that it can combat COVID-19 is being misinterpreted Concentrations of the drug used in the study are not safe for human use, and not applicable to the real world The drug has become popular in America, and many are resorting to using versions of the drug made for animals, which can have dangerous side effects

Dr Timothy Geary is one of the world's foremost experts of ivermectin, and has done research on the drug for over a decade.

Geary, who is the Research Chair in Parasite Biotechnology at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, says that the study which spawned much of the ivermectin-craze is not being correctly read.

He told DailyMail.com that the study did show that ivermectin could inhibit the replication of COVID-19 virus cells, which is what many are reading from the study that makes them believe the drug has virus killing properties.

Maybe the good Doctor can explain the dramatic cures of Ivermectin in India and African Nations?

Indeed, but not just the "good doctor." Maybe some defending the "good doctor" on this site can explain it as well.

My daughter (high risk) got Covid. Was treated immediately with Regeneron and then Ivermectin a few days later.

She said Ivermectin was much more effective than the Regeneron.

By the way, Ivermectin has been used for years for other treatments by physicians. Horses take antibiotics too.

“I was reading the side effects of ivermectin and it looks to be very safe, but and it looks like someone could experience more side effects if you have parasites because of the die off I guess. Could that be a possibility?”

True, but only in really bad cases. For those people, all of the dead parasites puts the patient in danger. But obviously extremely rare, in this part of the world.

I have been taking it and I feel fine.
I am a 250 pound horse now.
Side effects for me have been better bowel movements.
I took it 4 times this month and plan one dose 1 time a month for a while.
I am a mechanic not a doctor.
Don't ask me about dosage, I decided by reading threads here.
I took it 2 times 3 days apart twice
2 weeks in between. 250 pound horse amount.
My choice.
I'm not telling anyone to take it, I'm a guinea pig for you all. I have MS and diabetes and I'm pretty fat. No clot shots for me.

Not necessary.

Start with this:

https://rumble.com/vlpecw-the-story-of-ivermectin.html

Spend a little time here:

https://www.barnhardt.biz/2020/12/19/mystery-solved-ivermectin-is-why-africa-india-and-other-third-world-sholes-had-statistically-zero-coronacold/

The world is full of smart competent people working on this disease, they are not all here in the US. We have no monopoly on smarts. I am thinking these days the opposite is true and we may have none at all.

Then go with this. It should keep you occupied for quite some time.

Thanks for doing the math. As you point out, the preventative dose coincides with the weight scale on the tube. IIRC, the treatment dose is twice that. Ivermectin is well tolerated by humans. Still, anyone dumb enough to eat an entire tube meant for a 1250 lb horse.....

:>)

Oh.

I didn’t pick up on that.

you're being misleading.

In cell culture in doses that cannot be achieved in humans.

“very high concentrations relative to what you would find in the plasma of a treated person or an animal, which would be 20 to 50 times lower.’”

and which would constitute an overdose in humans.

“the standard doses of ivermectin that we use for people are never going to reach the levels that would be effective in against the virus “

this is collaborated in the article by “Dr Jim Morris, a professor at the Eukaryotic Pathogens Innovation Center at Clemson University, in South Carolina,”

at best, ivermectin presents a 70% efficacy, and only with early application, but, how do we know that, if those who are using it are almost exclusively in the 80% survival rate group, anyway? i.e., under 40

"The compound that served as a basis for invermectin was found i. A soil sample from Japan. But it was a lab in Britain that found it."

Satoshi Ōmura, a Japanese microbiologist and expert in isolating natural products, focused on a group of bacteria, Streptomyces, which lives in the soil and was known to produce a plethora of agents with antibacterial activities (including Streptomycin discovered by Selman Waksman, Nobel Prize 1952). Equipped with extraordinary skills in developing unique methods for large-scale culturing and characterization of these bacteria, Ōmura isolated new strains of Streptomyces from soil samples and successfully cultured them in the laboratory. From many thousand different cultures, he selected about 50 of the most promising, with the intent that they would be further analyzed for their activity against harmful microorganisms.

William C. Campbell, an expert in parasite biology working in the USA, acquired Ōmura’s Streptomyces cultures and explored their efficacy. Campbell showed that a component from one of the cultures was remarkably efficient against parasites in domestic and farm animals. The bioactive agent was purified and named Avermectin, which was subsequently chemically modified to a more effective compound called Ivermectin. Ivermectin was later tested in humans with parasitic infections and effectively killed parasite larvae (microfilaria) (Figure 3). Collectively, Ōmura and Campbell’s contributions led to the discovery of a new class of drugs with extraordinary efficacy against parasitic diseases.

Mexico too. They gave pill packs with 2 6mg doses as an experiment to see what impact it would have on hospitalization. It dropped 62%. That’s a low dose too.

Dr. Joseph Campbell. On YouTube still. His approach is incredibly disciplined. If it isn’t in peer-reviewed lit, then he goes to clinical trials. No trials, then community trials. Just the facts. A doctor of nursing.

Of late he was extremely critical of the FDA approval. The approval letter stated 91 percent efficacy, when the FDAs own documentation had efficacy around 68 percent. FDA flat out lied in the approval letter, or they were (in his words) too lazy in the midst of a pandemic to cite their own research.

Either way, very bad look for the FDA.

you're being misleading.

If so, not on purpose. I commented only after skimming the article, and as is often the case with the Daily Mail, they do their own misleading bit, assuming everyone is taking a horse-sized dose, and implying that the drug is only good for treating farm animals for parasites.

Wow.

My nephew, who is a fireman/emt, just texted me about all the stories coming in from folks who have been taking the ivermectin paste from Tractor Supply. And that folks are dying and pooping out their intestines, etc. Calling poison control from taking too much.

This topic came up the other day and someone had brought up the fact that the paste can be used but it’s designed to be dosed properly, based on weight and that there’s some type of formula for it.

Anyway, I guess slabbing a big old strip of it on a PB&J probably isn’t healthy as that would probably be enough for 4 horses, I’m guessing.

I guess Mexico, like India, doesn’t have the money to toss away to Big Pharma and Wall St to buy expensive treatments, given away for free, so they have to try an alternate more basic route that works. Go figure.

It’s amazing that these shots are so good that they have to be given to other countries for free, all donated by the Federal Reserve who prints the money to pay the bill and the US Taxpayer who backs the paper. Disgusting.

I just read yesterday that the Japanese are using it with great success.

But, I'd imagine the Japanese start at a far better baseline. Little obesity, diabetes, much better diet, probably less overall systemic inflammation.

the blue countries are concentrated in the center of the continent. is it possible the weather is different there from the yellow countries? is it possible people are outside more, and get more vitamin D?

What about Japan? You neglected to mention them.

Japan is a far more advanced nation than the US and they have ordered Ivermectin to be used in the treatment of covid-1984.
