I’ve never understood the draw of ‘megachurches’.
How do you have fellowship with thousands of other people?
You may as well just go to a rock concert.
The church is not the people in the pews being “entertained.” I go to a large Baptist church and by pooling our resources and people, we are able to have a mission field all over the world and in our own backyard.
Mega churches do the brainwashing technique with the music and the crowds and the charismatic speaker....think Jim Jones...
Interesting article on the music element here:

The last time I was in a large church like this, it WAS a concert. Full band, lighting smoke machine, etc.
Not my scene. We have a home church group and we volunteer for some outreach programs.
They can keep the big, flashy Millennial church program. Heck, they even had a coffee/latte bar and barista in the lobby.
Megachurches just scream grifters & Joel Osteen to me.
A rock concert would totally have a better vibe.
Don’t be ignurnt
Churches are like people. Each has it's own personality. And different churches attract different people. As long as Christ is preached, it's a good thing, not a bad thing.
Megachurches can offer discipleship courses and training that a small church cannot. Megachurches often have entertainment facilities, gyms, sometimes even bowling allies, that can serve as an outreach ministry to bring people into the church to hear about Christ. They will usually have a lot more activities outside of the service where you can get to know people.
You don't get to know everybody in a megachurch the way you do in a small church. But you can go to a small sunday school class and get to know people there. If you're active in one or more of the ministries, the choir, visitation, room at the inn, etc you get to know the people who participate in those classes and ministries.
You don’t. The beauty of mega churches are that they function as large towns or small cities. They provide a lot. The intimacy comes from small groups and organizational involvement.
