Leaving behind a black hawk helicopter. We didn't leave one behind. Here's an accounting from the U.S. Government Accounting Office of all we did leave behind:

Not to be graphic but they don’t “hang” like we’re used to, neck snaps. They do more strangulation with body weight, takes a few minutes.

For Pete’s sake.
BiteMe couldn’t do ANY of this.

Knowledge, mechanical ability, availability of parts, and knowing the maintenance schedule are all very different things than getting a helicopter in the air.

Knowledge, mechanical ability, availability of parts, and knowing the maintenance schedule are all very different things than getting a helicopter in the air. Yes, I can understand that. But why should we assume that the Taliban are incapable of such things?
I dunno. I just see a lot of petulant bloviating here of late, with people angrily mocking those whom they perceive to be inferior to themselves. Sort of reminds me of those who, some decades ago, dismissed the Viet Cong as "95-lb guys in black pajamas," etc. And who won that war, when all was said and done?
In less than two weeks, the U.S. will be commemorating the 9/11 attacks. Not sure what we have to show for the intervening two decades, except that a lot of people -- none of whom could themselves service a Blackhawk helicopter, I imagine -- made a lot of money off the backs of dead American servicemen.

Hang their enemies from landing skids.
So much for, ‘they’ll never be able to fly them.’
To: RushingWater
Who do you think is flying that? An Afghan army soldier we trained, who switched uniforms. Just like the Cartels send folks to get trained by the US military, the Taliban got their training from us.
Of course, flying is one thing, maintenance another, and flying in combat yet a third.

We trained them. I can’t believe they don’t have a button to wipe all of the technology or reprogram it to crash on its first flight.
