Call your family and friends and mark your calendars for eastern North Carolina's biggest, baddest, fastest and loudest outdoor event September 25-26, 2021!
The commanding officer of Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point invites you to visit the Marine Corps' largest air base for the 2021 MCAS Cherry Point Air Show, featuring the world's top aviation aerobatic team, the U.S. Navy Blue Angels.
Saturday and Sunday will both have full day shows featuring a dizzying variety of military and civilian aerobatic demonstrations including performances by Aftershock, RJ Gritter, Tom Larkin, Steve Covington and Hubie Tolson. You and your family will get up close and personal to dozens of historic and modern aircraft displays, as well as a wide array of military vehicles and equipment. The show will offer children's activities, an outdoor recreational show and much more. Admission and parking are FREE. The air show narrator will talk you through a Marine Air Ground Task Force demonstration as air and ground Marine combat forces simulate an assault on enemy positions right in front of your eyes! Individual demonstrations, such as one by the Marine Corps' AV-8B Harrier, will make it clear why the Marine Corps is the finest fighting force in the world.
As always, the U.S. Navy Blue Angels will provide the grand finale both days!
I'm taking the Mrs.to the show for Our 10th Anniversary. She's never been to one and doesn't know anymore than I've made plans for a day trip. She loves SPEED so I figure I'm safe with this plan.
Don't forget Hearing Protection (especially for the Kids), Sun Block and Water.
Over here !!!
Y’All too...
Kinda makes this old Army guy wish he had gone Navy!
(((Ping)))
last time i saw the Angles was mid-90s
have fun
Wow. Kind of bittersweet in remembering right now. Our youngest son was a Cherry Point Marine some years ago. He joined the USMC just after 9/11 as a 17 year old high school senior, going to Boot Camp after graduation and then on to Cherry Point and two deployments in Iraq in dangerous times.
The other day he quietly said to us, “It is 15 years ago today that I arrived in Afghanistan.” After his four years of active Marine duty he went to Bagram Air Base for a year as a DOD contractor. He won’t talk much at all about those years. We are so thankful he came home, but we HURT for all those who did not come home alive and well. He has been very sad this past week.
It’s been 20+ years since I made it to any Air Show.
Randolph AFB for The Thunder Birds.
Lived about 2 miles from the Gate and inline with the Runway/Glide Path We were still sleeping Saturday Morning and were awakened with an F-4 in AB warming up!!!
Best Alarm Ever !!! You don’t sleep through that one...
they’ll be at Oceana Naval Base the weekend before this.
Former Air Force here, and I love the Thunderbirds, but the best shows were always the Blue Angels.
I will no longer attend any events by the woke joke military.
A couple of years ago the Blue Angels appeared at an air show at Westover. For a couple of days before the show you could see them...and hear them...doing their practice routines over her neighborhood. Damn it was fun to watch!
Being retired I have far too much free time. I spend a lot of that time watching youtube videos of carrier flight deck operations. Hey,at least it ain’t soap operas! ;-)
They did a great fly over low in DC during the Reagan Funeral and a couple Trump fly overs were incredible complete with awesome timing and fireworks
great show!
Send him my personal salute. I’m a Cherry Point veteran. I fixed a Blue Angel (Phantom) once that was having troubles there. I remember an air show put on for the troops and their families. We were all on the edge of the flight line. Spectacular! A captain from our squadron roared down the runway at extremely low altitude, kicked it up 45 degrees and did a climbing spiral. I still imagine the amount of g’s he pulled that day for the crowd. He earned my respect. A Harrier pilot did some things only helicopters are capable of. I even got to debrief a two star one time, lol.
Please pass on My Thank You to Him for His Service.
