Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt Statement on Victory in Second Amendment Preservation Act Case

August 27, 2021 Contact: Constituent Services Office: 573-751-3321

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt released the following statement following the Cole County Circuit Court’s denial of Jackson County, St. Louis County, St. Louis City and the Department of Justice’s request for an injunction blocking Missouri’s Second Amendment Preservation Act:

“Today’s ruling was an important victory for the Missouri Attorney General’s Office over the Biden Department of Justice, and for the Second Amendment rights of all Missourians,” said Attorney General Schmitt. “Since the Second Amendment Preservation Act was passed, I promised to fiercely defend the law and Missourians’ Second Amendment rights - that’s exactly what we did in this case and will continue to do moving forward."

The judgment from the court can be found here: https://ago.mo.gov/docs/default-source/press-releases/judgment_final.pdf?sfvrsn=b8752b01_2

Way to go Missouri!

This puts you on the short list of states to move to if things go south (so to speak) in Ohio.

;)

Only if you bring some Amish with you.

Stay away from StL and KC. Otherwise, welcome aboard.

Yeah, in our part of southern MO we have been getting more and more genuine Amish.
We like them but the buggies can be a bit of a road hazard at night. They don’t believe in safety devices.
We have had quite a group of the ultra-conservative Christian Russians here for many years.

Moved here the first time in ‘93 for Engr Officer courses, liked it but it then had bad gun laws compared to AL, FL etc. Permit from Sherriff to purchase handguns, no CCW, but “peaceable journey” provision. Then came back in late 90s, things began to move, then back again in 2002 and got involved in CCW activism, got that passed i n 2004, through MO Supreme Court in 2005, then permit to purchase died in 2008 ( I finally bought a new handgun soon thereafter), Finally permitless carry in 2017, removal of records from central state bureaucrats in 2013 ( no, LE does not know if a MO driver has a CCW license), SYG, Castle DOC trine, suppressors for hunting, preemption, range protection, 2A defense, state const amendment in 2015ish, liberals heads explode with regularity thankfully, over the “lax and frightful weak gun laws in the state” ( I encourage to move far west or east ward...)

Of course, the crime occurs in liberal enclaves for the most part, as it should be, proving their ideas/policies won’t and don’t work.

I think MO has the best overall firearms climate in the nation, excepting maybe AK.

The ones I saw down by Douglas, Wright, Webster counties always had a reflective triangle on the back and I rarely saw them at night. Then of course there were the more modern Amish who drove tractors to the store. I miss Shetlers. I’m 100 miles North of their up 63 now.

They do have to have a red tail light and orange triangle by law....

I saw a Deputy writing one up last winter near Walnut Grove.

More good news is coming down the road, as other southern states are passing constitutional carry.

You are right, I’m sure.
I think I was remembering perhaps a letter to the editor in a local paper after a buggy fatality
that stated some of the local Amish were not permitted by
their sect to display safety devices.
The letter was asking drivers to help by slowing down on local roads after dark.

Bought a wood stove from an Amish guy. Saw plenty in the stores I shopped in.

It just dawned on me. I’m from MO, not Ohio. I was hoping to get more Amish here.

That’s funny.

The Amish are a novelty at a distance.

Up close not so much. They are terrible to do business with, they will over hunt an area with no regard for conservation or abiding by hunting seasons, and their horse and buggies sharing public roads are dangerous. I service a quarry in south central Missouri right through the middle of Dunnegan (Amish country) and I have had multiple near misses with them. One involved a small child driving an out of control buckboard.

As for all their “homemade” goods, that is a big laugh. My wife tried “shopping” at serval of their stores and the vast majority of the items are repacked manufactured products.

At least they’re not on the government payroll I guess.
Stand in line with them at the market and you’ll notice they don’t use deodorant…….. kind of tough on these 95+ days at Hannah’s General store in Fair Play.

My best friend is originally from Port Townsend, moved to Seattle and lived there all his life except for a 6 ye stint in the Navy with me. Loves to hunt and fish, loves his guns, and Washington state was very conducive to that, all the way up to the 90s, when Californicators moved there to hook up with a fellow leftist, Bill Gates. It has gone to shit since then. Long story short, a lifetime Washingtonian moved to Missouri. Loving it. Lower cost of living, beautiful Ozarks, and 2nd amendment heaven.
