I think a lot of big, blue-collar port cities around the world looked like Naples back then in the Seventies. The world economy was in a massive recession, and I don't think it was totally unusual.

I do remember the first time I took a liberty launch into Naples, and...the refuse, huge thick rafts of everything from dead cats and dogs to trash of all kinds, had to be plowed through with the bow of the liberty launch. I was no shrinking violet, but I had not seen that nastiness ANYWHERE else in the world, and had traveled completely around the world and lived overseas by the time I was 13.

I do kind of agree, though-when I took a trip to Carney Park (the "volcano" as we called it) that was actually quite nice, so I think you are right...:). Here is a picture from that day:

I don't see how you can get around that by claiming "selective editing". Any soldiers that do that are automatically enemies of the people of the United States, and I and my neighbors will NOT put up with it.

Looks like a fun group!

I spent a lot of time at Carney Park. We didn’t live terribly far from there. They had outdoor movies on summer evenings, great 4th of July parties and of course, the Forrest Sherman High School football games on Saturday afternoons in the fall. Sometimes, a parent would take a bunch of us just to run around for an afternoon.

There was also an American beach a little south of us that was nice. Great memories.

I visited Naples one time...flown up to have 4 wisdom teeth taken out by a Navy dentist at the Naval Hospital. He tore my mouth up. But the pain meds were good! Plus, there was always wine...

Asked if they were willing to go door to door to seize firearms in America and if they’d have a problem firing on citizens that fought back or didn’t comply. They didn’t get the numbers they were hoping for and therefore began numerous military exercises with the un and other foreign forces.
Once the military was decimated by the ‘woke’ crowd, they are more compliant to follow orders even if they are illegal or unconstitutional.
