Nickelodeon star JoJo Siwa — who came out as part of the LGBTQ community in January — will make history as the first “Dancing With the Stars” contestant to be matched with a same-sex partner, ABC announced in a social media post promoting the show’s 30th season.
“I am so excited to be a part of ‘Dancing With the Stars,’ Season 30, and to be dancing with a girl,” Siwa, 18, said in the promo clip. “I think it’s so cool.”
Jojo’s partner will be announced during the show’s season premiere.
The American series will be following in the footsteps of its UK equivalent, “Strictly Come Dancing,” which, in 2020, allowed Olympic boxer Nicola Adams to be paired with a woman at her request, the BBC reported at the time.

All this sexual craziness, the same sex marriages, the transgender, the new and improved pronouns, etc. ARE ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE BELL CURVE.

My wife and I watched the show for about the first 15 years. Then they let the voting audience take over the show. It went to hell in a hurry.

We quit watching the at the end of the last three seasons. Was starting to get sickening, now it’s really sick garbage.

I quit watching the show many years ago after I renamed it “Dancing With The Sluts” due to the producers enforcement of the use of scantly clad costumes.
I grew up with parents who knew most ballroom dance styles and were good ballroom dancers, so I DO have an appreciation for good dancing.
Good dancing does not require the slutty costumes.
Sadly, The Usual Suspects will keep on viewing, and continue to make the show a success.
The audience has always had a huge impact on the voting. One of the biggest controversies in Strictly Come Dancing history was when John Sergeant did some of the worst dances in Strictly history and yet the audience kept voting him through every week. The judges were getting particularly nasty about it until John finally got fed up and quit the show.

That is why the wife an I quit watching. The audience voted the best ones off and kept the bad ones. Some rapper guy on there was terrible as well as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. They should have been voted off the first show and yet were still there weeks later.
Ohmigosh!!! Gay people on TV! This is historic, unprecedented, and fabulous all rolled into one!!!
So Kareem Abdul Jabbar may have gone further than he deserved, for example, but in the end the best dancers were in the final and he wasn't.
Just a bit of DWTS trivia, in case you didn't know it: every dancer who makes it to the finals gets paid exactly the same. The only difference is that one of them gets a $10 plastic trophy, which is probably why the others aren't that bothered about losing.
My mom loved that show. I wonder what she’d say about female partners dancing. I won’t watch.
