Seems like you could even get a concussion.

A skydiver gets up to 120 MPH in freefall. 112 mph in 2 seconds is pretty impressive.

[[the quick acceleration could be responsible. The ride reaches 112 mph in 1.56 seconds.]]

Can’t be it- (/s) more likely when they are strapping themselves in

“0 to 112 mph in less than two seconds”

If true, that’s one mind-blowingly fast ride.

I’ve accelerated at about this rate on a catapult off of a U.S. aircraft carrier and it was super smooth and in fact quite exhilarating. Before I did so I spoke with the catapult operator who explained that it’s not just the total rate of acceleration, it’s how you apply it. You have to use some pretty serious science to make the rate of acceleration constant over the two or three seconds so you don’t snap the pilots’ or the passengers’ necks. Unfortunately for the designers of this ride, the last Japanese carrier was decommissioned in 1945.

I just looked at the video at the link. It looks like a real life version of "Mr. Do!'s Wild Ride".

“...0 to 112 mph in less than two seconds...”

Heck, my old ‘73 TR6 was faster than that. LOL.

The coaster looks pretty mild except for the starting acceleration.

There are similar rides in the US, like Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point. It goes from 0-120 mph in under 4 seconds. It’s awesome. I would imagine these people with neck injuries didn’t follow ride guidelines, especially the part about keeping your head back against the headrest during acceleration. I strained my neck a little one time when I accidentally had my head a little off the headrest at the start.

It reminds me of the Expedition at Disneyworld. I went on it last summer with my then 5 yo granddaughter. I thought we were gonna die but she loved it...so we ended up going 3 times! She’s fearless and I didn’t wanna look like a pussy grandma, plus she said she’d hold my hand, lol.

That’s about 2 1/2 Gs. They’re lucky it wasn’t heart attacks.
