Took many road trips with my 4 kids. I’d never heard the dead skunk growing up but we all heard it 1st together, immediately loved that ditty as we sang along in the car.
So since that song got it's own thread I felt sure both this song and artist deserves a thread as well, we enjoyed most all the Heywood Banks songs.
My fav song is: Toast
but the kids favorite was: The Cat got Dead
Oops meant to post this link about the songs details:

His joke.
Do you know why I don’t like black toast/
I’m black toast intolerant.
Spent a lot of years listening to Bob and Tom
Heywood Banks song’s are hilarious
My wife and I got to see Heywood live back in the early 90s/late 80s.
He was very good then. We went to see him because we had heard him on the Bob and Tom show.
I love “Inches Feet Miles”
Another cat story - we had a rescued momma cat, Noodle bc she loved noodles, that kept running away once the 2 kittens (Rigatoni & Ravioli -don’t blame me my son Marc named em’ all) were weaned. Noodle was a small black cat with a few white marks on her neck and belly. She was not afraid of strangers, often returned and/or commented on by every delivery and service workers in the area over maybe 6 months.
Even the humane society found her, could have been fined instead they ‘let’ me spend $100 getting her chipped. One day the FedEx guy brought her back, said she’d snuck in to his van. He only heard the purring when he’d finished his work so he brought her back the next day.
Then she disappeared for good, or so we thought. When I got the phone call from another humane society maybe 8-9 months later it was Sat almost 3pm and they said they had my cat. Described Ravioli who was sitting on my lap, and told me they closed at noon if I could get down there before then.
I thought it was a prank until my son, Marc got the next call, he came racing down the stairs to tell me it was Huntington Beach, CA and they had Noodle. Well we decided we had to let the lady who found her have her.
After we started discussing this it seemed likely, since the FedEx driver story, that she’d made another escape/trip on one of their planes and relocated to Cali.
Crazier yet - read a story a few years back here on FR about a couple that rented a moving van to go from Cali to Nebraska I think. When they unpacked the van a neighbor cat described like Noodle was found inside.
