It is coming damn close. Even the last and awful SW movies had a LOT of humans portrayed as CGI.

CGI won’t work for live theater, that is, until holograms have greatly improved. “Whitney Houston” (as hologram) is on tour right now in Las Vegas!

Especially since elections became obsolete in the 2030s.
