McDonald’s says it has pulled milkshakes from the menu in all 1,250 of its British restaurants because of supply problems stemming from a shortage of truck drivers.
The fast-food chain says it is also experiencing shortages of bottled drinks.
“Like most retailers, we are currently experiencing some supply chain issues, impacting the availability of a small number of products,” McDonald’s said in a statement Tuesday. “Bottled drinks and milkshakes are temporarily unavailable in restaurants across England, Scotland and Wales.”
It said it was “working hard to return these items to the menu.” …

Britain is paying people to stay home too?
The machine is broken anyway
Sad. Their vanilla shakes are the best. thing on the menu.
how does England, run out of milk? It’s like Corwall running out of daffodils
Let them drink tea.
The McDonald's in my town is notorious for that, and has been for years.
It's probably not the milk they're short of.
Ingredients: Milk, Sugar, Cream, Corn Syrup, Natural Flavor, Mono and Diglycerides, Cellulose Gum, Guar Gum, Carrageenan, Vitamin A Palmitate.
Just keep a couple of milk cows in the back.

I opened this thread just to see how long until somebody pointed this out. LOL
If they can’t get Iron Bru in Scotland they might as well shut the doors.
Yup, carrageenan makes the world go ‘round!

The bar that I managed in University blender was “broken” for the three years I managed there. I never made my busy bartenders take the time out to make a time consuming Bullsht frozen blender drink for a 5 bucks vs them slamming out rail drinks at $5+ each in 30 seconds per drink or less. Our blender was “broken” indefinitely. A busy night club is no place for sissy frozen drinks man up and drink a whiskey and coke big boy
I never have a shake — too filling. The “broken” shake machine in my town is just one example of how badly the place is run. A neighbor told me he went there and they were out of hamburgers. I once saw a woman return with her Big Mac because it was put together like this: bottom bun, middle bun, patty, patty, toppings, top bun. I have heard that the shake or ice cream machine problem — which is apparently pretty common — is caused by no one wanting to clean the machine, and what passes for management doesn’t see to it that it is done. If the machines are actually broken, I’m sure that they have someone to fix them. A friend from high school made his career doing that kind of maintenance for White Castle.
The funny thing is that before Ray Kroc got involved in the original McDonald’s, he sold shake machines to them. I remember when I was a kid, they marketed themselves as a place to get a hamburger, fries, and a triple-thick shake.
