I always advise people looking at $1000 carry guns, to consider what happens if they ever have to use the, they will likely lose them.
Yup. If you buy five $200 guns, one gets confiscated, no big deal.
If it saves your life, then the $1000 was worth it. I’d rather lose a $1000 gun than lose a gunfight with a $250 dollar gun.
If you ever need to use it, your legal bills will probably be in the neighborhood of $100K, so losing your gun will be the least of your issues.
I'd rather have a gun which is (1) reliable and accurate as hell, and (2) has enough power and capacity to stop a deadly threat. If I lose it after it has accomplished its purpose, then oh well.
Another consideration to be aware of, is if you are involved in a shooting you may lose your gun, and NOT BE ABLE to buy a replacement. Being "under indictment" on felony charges will cause you to fail the NICS background check
So, have at least one spare. And keep it where it will not be confiscated if cops search your house.
