The small town community of Hamilton in West MI had special meeting of the school board to have a work session. Over the prior weekend, the local county health official mandated masks for children K-6 nullifying a board-approved mask optional directive from 3 days prior. Over 50 irate parents showed up at the meeting to voice their concern and disapproval of the new county edict. Upon entering the room, the board president Mr. Randle informed parents that there would be no public comment. When a point of order was made that there must be public comment, Mr. Randle stated that it was within his rights to decide if public comment was allowed. Ensuing chaos began and the BP immediately adjoined the meeting. This is a violation of the MI Open Meetings Act. Parents need to paralyze these boards that won't listen.

Adjourned?
Regards,
adjourned is correct
How did security get there before the guy was beaten to a pulp? Talking gets us nowhere today.
While I am sure the school board is ALSO doing something wrong, it sounds like it was the county health board that enacted the mask mandate. ??
Perhaps he wrote with a Brooklyn accent?
Our local community here in Wisconsin collected over 4000 signatures which were turned in yesterday to recall 4 members of our school board.
Bravo
Yeah, I don’t get the beef with the school board. He says the health official has and used a power “nullifying” the board.
Luckily Leftist School Boards NO NOT EXIST in districts where conservatives live - otherwise, they’d have trouble finding parents willing to enroll their kids.
NICE WORK!
Whose kids are they anyway? Is this when the State takes over ownership of our children?
Sadly, they do.
Governmental bodies are always Left-leaning....even in conservative areas.
Lefties are more likely to run because they have an “Only people like me can save the world by running it” complex. They are also willing
to lie about their intentions and values to get elected.
Conservatives are generally busy enough trying to lead their lives and dont need the additional harrassment that comes with GWC (governing while conservative)
We have ceded this ground to the left from the bottom to the top in most areas
“We have ceded this ground to the left from the bottom to the top in most areas”
And what REALLY BITES is that most conservatives think we’re crackpots (including many here) when say that public schools are simply PURE EVIL. I think that part of their anger at us is due to the fact that many sent (or send) their kids there. The best way to deal with that fact is to simply deny it’s true - well, at least in THEIR school district, because THEIR school district was the salt of the Earth, all conservatives in THEIR district. It’s those ‘other districts’, the ones next store and in ‘the city’ that are the problem, certainly not THEIR school district. Nope, no way.
Did it occur to you that perhaps the school board is lying about it being subservience to the health directors demands? Since when can a bureaucrat from the Health Department nullify and dismiss elected officials?
So ready to surrender, maybe you should look into that.
Don’t let the week suck rhinos in this forum get you down, Our revenge is coming in the 2022 GOP primary elections.
I will enjoy the sweet, salty tears of RINOs as they run off wailing and howling into the wilderness.
The OP says they health official has that power. The OP says nothing about the board lying.
I don’t go to a meeting guessing. Either you know they’re lying or you don’t say it. To assume that is moronic.
I take no credit except for signing the petitions (which was an ordeal in itself — there were 4 — and cheering on these young moms who spearheaded this 60 day effort, despite ridicule from teachers, former school administrators and sheeple parents. These ladies worked very hard, offered cohesive talking points, and covered every base. They had websites, email, Face Book and probably other social media, and went door to door. They had signing stations every weekend, and their petitions appeared at businesses and private parties. Now we see what the board will do with the signatures. I’m sure they will try to disqualify enough to cancel the election.
The mayor of our town tried to prevent these ladies from gathering signatures on public property until a law firm threatened to sue him for interfering with the 1st Amendment. He backed down. They even direct mailed petitions and talking points to town residents the last week.
They’ve got your kids and by dang they won’t let go!
