Nguyen shuffled to his feet from his wheelchair, straightened his jacket as he looked at Jacobs, and, with a trembling right hand, he saluted. What's this watery stuff coming out of my eyes?!

I wonder why so many want to come so such an “awful” country???
To: DUMBGRUNT
I don’t often click links to read the whole story. Especially a CNN link. I’m glad I did this one.
To: DUMBGRUNT
I’m asking myself “Why is this wonderful story coming from CNN?”
And “Why now?”
Because CNN is in the business of narrative management for those
directing the heinous actions of the PedoDementoCorruptoCrat
administration.
Guess what. The folks the recent intentional “follies” will now be bringing
here in droves, are nothing like Nguyen and his family.
But you are supposed to think they are.

Must-Read. See the whole thing on . . . yes, CNN.
Wow. Just wow.

The Fall of Saigon had infinitely more grace and dignity than anything we are seeing today in Biden’s Afghanistan.
To: DUMBGRUNT
That’s a great story.
Sadly, there are many people nowadays who were born and lived in the U.S. their entire lives; who have alot of disdain for this country. We need less of those folks, and more people like Nguyen.

I remember the film of the VNAF pilot who did something similar to this with a Huey, but had never heard of this story.

That is incredible.
My wife’s mother escaped what became North Korea. Used to love her stories. Many she wouldn’t tell completely and the are lost with her.

Nguyen would die from Alzheimer’s three years later, at 73, passing away in his sleep one summer night. But at the reunion, in that moment, time folded back to April 1975. Miki watched his father do something that reminded him that, though his father’s body was failing, the dad who he knew would come for him was still there. Yea, I'm crying too..........
