[Mississippi] Poison control calls spike as people take livestock dewormer to treat COVID-19

The Mississippi State Department of Health sent a health alert Friday warning health care providers about a drug used to deworm livestock that some are using to treat and prevent COVID-19.

According to the alert, the Mississippi Poison Control Center has received several calls related to the ingestion of ivermectin meant for livestock, which is causing illness in COVID-19 patients.

Ivermectin is approved for use in both people and animals, but animal drugs are highly concentrated and can be highly toxic in humans.

For the preventative dose it was something like the preventative dose twice within 3 days, and then take it weekly. I had read where it was take it every two weeks at another place. So I take it every 10 days! Along with the pills and vitamins they say are good every day. Vitamin D, zinc, etc.

Billions of people have used it. Our farm has it, workers have used it....our menonite day care sitters use it for treating lice ....its safe if used appropriately. Heck its OTC in many countries (like Plaquenil).
