Robert Krebs served more than 30 years for 1981 robbery in Florida
An 84-year-old man who spent most of his adult life behind bars for robbing banks was sentenced Tuesday to more than 21 years in prison for carrying out an armed heist at an Arizona credit union.
Authorities say Robert Krebs carried out the January 2018 holdup in Tucson about seven months after he was released from prison as he was struggling to adjust to life on the outside. His attorney said Krebs wanted to go back to prison.
Krebs, who was in a wheelchair and had difficulty hearing during his during sentencing, declined to answer a judge’s question about whether he accepted responsibility for his actions.

The anti-Ironside.
A villain in a wheelchair.
Well, he probably figured I either end up in a crappy state-run nursing home, or a crappy state-run prison, but the prison is where his old friends are.
Piece of cake what with lenient time off for good behavior. He’ll still be spry enough to knock off a gas station when he gets out.
Unless, of course, this was his planned retirement where he could be taken care of and fed his three meals a day.
Boy, he’ll be really old when he gets out.
He did what was necessary to go back to the comfort of prison for his remaining days.
Free hots and a cot with free medical care.
Better than that old dude who got released in The Shawshank Redemption.
He was apparently unable to cope and fit in on on the outside, in effect he had become institutionalized and wanted what he had come to accept as normal for himself, to be cared for, 3 hots and a cot as it used to called. It was natural for him. On that level I n can understand him.
They already made this movie:
The Old Man and the Gun

Hope he learns a trade in prison.
He’s figured out how to game the system. Illegal aliens cross the border by the millions to game the system. Why should he work and slave and spend a lifetime earning a decent living just to have the government take it all away from him?
Three hots and a cot. For life. Lucky bastid.
Would he even end up in a nursing home or on the street/alley?
Prison was a sure thing for him for that action.
No mask for him - he was tired of the real world and wanted to go back home to three squares, clean beds and his friends in a great medical ward. I guess it beats trying to survive in a wheelchair on $800/mo when you’re 84 and nobody cares.

Otherwise, Not much of a productive future for this old timer.
Sounds like an old George Burns movie “Going in Style”.

Could be an opportunity to turn his life around...
Lol...that’s right. I thought the same thing when I read the story. He’d didn’t want to end up hanging himself.
Better there than outside or in Cuomo’s state.
