speaking of black swan events and ff’s.....all the pundits are predicting a stock market crash....
do freepers generally buy it?....are you going into cash?....just waiting?
I moved a bunch of money into cash in Jan, but I’ve been continuing to sit on a big slug of high dividend stocks and Palantir. Palantir has cost me some but it’s a vapor loss. I’ve also been selling calls to generate additional income.
I’m margined but I can offset a downturn with the cash I already have set aside if need be. So I guess the answer is yes and no on the cash thing.
And yes I do expect a downturn - question is when...I’m thinking Oct/Nov...which is when the big ones have been historically. I’ll likely reduce margin in Sept.

And “cash” = money market funds, not checking account, savings account, or physical greenbacks.

I expect it around that time too. Might come sooner. shrug.
I’ve been thinking about it - cause I think the fiscal situation is already past the point of no return.
And it needs to crash on Xiden/HeelsUp watch so the DEMS get the full credit for their ignorance.

I have in a 401k about 85-90% bonds and 15-10% stock (defense company I used to work for).
Anything else is bank accounts (IRA, savings, checking, & credit union checking).

This has always been my dilemma. If you get out of stocks what do you put it in? money market are mostly stocks. Selling to cash means it's tied to inflation. CD's have never been a good investment.
This is why commodities seems logical such as gold, silver and now you can add cryptocurrencies to that.
I can feel the change in the wind on the political front. Will that be for the good or bad. I can be sure yet. Either way panic is likely. I have to think about this.
