A Florida man who pleaded guilty to embezzling almost $13 million from a nonprofit affiliated with the University of South Florida’s medical school spent most of it on a website where users pay to watch women online.
Ralph Puglisi, a 59-year-old accounting manager for University Medical Service Association, admitted to misusing company credit cards to the tune of $12.6 million, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
Of that, about $11 million was spent on an adult website called MyGirlFund.com, an adult entertainment site. But Puglisi didn’t appear to be using the site entirely for his own enjoyment.
Some of the money went directly to a channel owned by his stepson’s fiancée, who then cashed out the tokens and split the proceeds, almost $745,000, 60/40, according to the Times.
Puglisi also spent more than $22,500 on plane tickets for a woman and her friends to fly from Toronto to Orlando and another $43,662 at Disney World Resorts.
Other expenses from the $12.6 million included $374,598 for personal travel, rent, home improvement, cell phone bills and a personal real estate attorney in the Virgin Islands.
USF said University Medical Service Association has “implemented enhanced control structures, including upgrading financial reporting systems, to better protect against criminal acts.”

Had to be in on it. Any competent auditor would have discovered the problem with the confirmation of balances from the banks. Compare those balances with a bank reconciliation, and you get, “ we seem to be off about $12 million “, lol.

It’s not as stupid as staying in America. He should have hidden it offshore/laundered it and bought a nice little place in Jamaica where there is lots of sunshine and zero extradition.

This sounds like one of those schemes usually done by either Nigerians or Russians.

There wasn't anything out of balance. The guy was an insider who was in a position to create fake expenses. The fraud was only discovered because the guy got so greedy that his higher ups noticed the unreasonable growth in expenses.
